Waitress served our drinks with her hand over the drink, fingers on the rim. Spicy shrimp was dry and had to ask someone else other than our waitress for more sauce as well as more soup. Chicken marsala was dry and asked for more sauce which took a while resulting in a cold meal. First time I've ever been handed boxes to take home our food at an Olive Garden. Normally the server takes care of this which is very helpful considering we have little children to tend to. We asked to speak to a manager but (Hunter) he didn't even introduce himself or try to see what the issue was. Literally just brought us a bag for our boxes. We frequently visit our local Olive Garden and this is unacceptable. I've worked for Darden and my husband for Olive Garden himself for 8+ years and needless to say we won't come back to this location. Such a let down when you spend that much money.
UPDATE: my mother decided to call the manager to complain and he invited us back with a $50 gift card. We happen to be back in the area a week later and thought we should give them another try (3/4). The food was much better this time around. The service seemed to be going well until the end. We had to wait a while for her to return to our table to ask to take our leftovers home. And when she did return with boxes she plopped them on the table for us to box, just like our last visit (different server). I'm just wondering if it's not standard anymore to box up the food for their tables anymore. We had 3 plates to box up and 1 soup, and were given 4 soup containers and 4 boxes so really it's just a waste for your restaurant. I was handed the check and we weren't offered dessert. I tried to use the kiosk to pay a certain dollar amount on the gift card and the other part and tip on my credit card. I had to ask for assistance of the server to process the gift card and when I went to pay the remaining on my credit card I couldn't adjust the tip. When asking for more assistance she had to leave and get the manager but I just paid the remaining bill with the set tip so we could leave since we had already spent more than enough time trying to leave the restaurant. The pics are from the second visit so you can see we left without any plates from our soup and dinner...
Read moreI have always had great experiences at the Olive Garden in Peru. Until tonight. From the time we sat down it was atrocious. There was food from God knows when in the booth backing, our server Eric was frazzled and unattentive. Took our drink order, got our drinks and had 2 go back twice for straws. Brought out our salad and had to go back again to get silverware, I am not exaggerating when I say that there were 5 of us in our party and every single piece of silverware was dirty. The manager Ashley went above and beyond for us, got us all new silverware. Eric came out with the food and 2 entrées were missing again Ashley to the rescue got the 2 missing entrées after about 10 minutes. Our experience from the time we sat down could of been a lot better, for starters the floor under our table was sticky and slimy. Ashley did everything right that a manager is supposed to do, comped our meal, which is not what I wanted, we were celebrating mothers day and my 50th birthday. Eric ame back took our dessert order and asked for it to go. We walked outside and my daughter inlaw sat down in the lobby to wait for her husband and overheard a few of the girls at the host stand talking about how rude we were, so I walked back in only to hear Eric and another server talking about how I" stiffed him on the desserts ". I spoke to Ashley again to inform her about the lack of professionalism and rudeness the girls at the host stand were and the things they said about us.. I will come back again because like I said when I started writing my review we enjoy the Olive Garden and am not going to base my decision on one bad experience. I will However be following up with a call to the general manager as well as an email...
Read morestaff is usually great, food is always great.. my company is always great.. the problem is some other parties and their children.. I love children, but some parents aren't doing very good jobs at teaching their children proper restaurant manners, inside voices, including no screaming!!!!! My family and I have been to olive garden a handful of times in the last 6 months and during over half of those, there were children that needed their parents attention.. the parents did not do anything to calm their children.. they just went on with their own party goers.. it was the grandparents in some of the cases that were attempting to calm or redirect these children.. and another thing.. olive garden managers need to do rounds around their restaurants and ask how tables are doing.. I'm sure that on these nights we're children are out of control, some other evening people would normally say at least a little something regarding any sort of problem, concern, or issue.. in turn, the manager NEEDS TO ADDRESS THESE SITUATIONS BY GOING TO THE TABLE IN QUESTION AND KINDLY SAY THAT THEY NEED TO ADDRESS THEIR noise level at the table.. if the manager has to go back multiple times, then each manager needs to come to a census of what each time represents as far as the requests from the manager.. from concerns to warnings to the manager asking the party to pay and exit the building to suck up the bill and telling the party to leave.. olive gardens are usually a busy enough restaurant that they can easily let a bill go for a table that has been asked and warned about the party's noise level.. I think other tables would be extremely grateful and would be able to enjoy the rest of their...
