Please contact your clients directly any time that you are choosing to close your business for any reason. I was scheduled for a blowout today (1/20/24) at 11:30 am, showed up to my appointment at that time and the doors were locked, salon was dark. I had an appointment for a getting blow out for my engagement pictures. Any time you are providing a service to people that requires an appointment, you should directly call people to let them know you are closing ahead of time so that they can make alternative plans. Every other salon in fishtown was open today, but no one could fit me in, as Saturday is a very busy day for salons, as you know. To all clients, please be aware of this and make sure you take it upon yourselves to contact this salon if there is any possibility of inclement weather, as this salon closed even though all roads were clear today (the day after a storm). The only way that I knew that the salon was closed today was through an instagram reel that the salon posted 17 hours beforehand (that a friend had to send me while I was standing outside in the cold in front of their salon). I received no call, no text, nothing. Very inconsiderate to think that this is how a client should rely on this information coming from a salon about their...
Read moreEveryone at the studio is so lovely and welcoming- the second you walk in you feel so so comfy and right at home. Moving to the city from the subarbs and having to find all new people, from doctors to nail techs and hair salons was a TASK. To find a good hair studio and person you trust to do your hair can be a major trial and error experience, and after a few fumbles and major research and recommendations, I finally found Ashlyn Bausman Studio. Jena has been my savior! She is so kind and down to earth, listens to your wants/needs and offers incredible guidance, is so patient (indecisive girly here) and truly takes pride in what she does. She wants her clients walking out of the studio feeling beautiful and satisfied, always. And she does just that. I can’t recommend her enough. If you’re on the hunt for literal hair gurus, unsure of direction, really trying to find somewhere that’s a good fit, that WONT mess up your hair or make you feel judged if there’s something you need tweaked or redone, look no further because I promise you that this is the place🫶🏼 everyone there so clearly takes pride in their profession and I’ve never seen a single person walk out of there unhappy. The Ashlyn Bausman...

i have been going to ashlyn bausman studio every week for years (same day of the week same time of day) to get my hair washed.
since then i have dealt with: a nearly 50% (!!!) increase in prices; hair dressers leaving with little or no notice; appointments being cancelled or or booked ahead (like i always ask for them to be); at least 3 different booking services often working simultaneously causing much confusion; all of my “points” being lost during system changes; no contact when my appointment wasn’t on the books or it a stylist changed…
if i were a business and had a weekly client, i would want to keep them and i would notice if they weren’t booked.
i will say the brazilian blowout from ashlyn was great! but it is a service offered at many salons. it is disappointing being that their location is so close and i enjoyed not having a bathroom full of hair products, but feeling like you are valued as a (long-term) client is really important.
i can’t vouch much for their color services… my hair is dull and i never achieved the blonde or healthy feeling i did from my previous salons. maura is sweet and liz is excellent, i just wish the business cared about their clients...
