I made reservations about a month ago for my best friends birthday. I had heard mixed reviews but it’s close to home and I thought we could give it a shot. It’s a really beautiful place, with a vibe. The hostess with the pixie cut and mermaid eyeshadow wore me out. Our reservation was at 5pm, I called ahead because we were struggling for parking to let them know we were going to be a bit late, the hostess who answered said it wouldn’t be a problem. We arrived at 5:15, but they wouldn’t seat us until our full party arrived, had I known that I would have booked elsewhere. I already knew a party of 7 women would not arrive at the same time. Instead of having us awkwardly gather at the front of the restaurant they could have just seated us so that we weren’t in the way of other guests or the servers with food and drinks in their hands. Finally all of our guests arrive, one hostess gets our name but she disappear, the hostess with the pixie cut and heavy green glittery eye shadow turns to me after I’ve already given my name multiple times and checked in at the hostess stand she asks me for my name I tell her, she looks at her screen and says well your guests arrive really late so you will have to be out of here by 7:45. The policy is not patron friendly however it’s the policy but as a hostess share that with me when I share that my guests haven’t arrived, when she said we couldn’t be seated til everyone arrive she probably could have included that there would be a time limit because of it. We honestly could have chosen to go where we weren’t rushed. We are seated ordered our drinks and appetizers shortly after. I initially ordered aguachile, as an aside I’m a foodie I eat land sea and everything in between, raw or cooked doesn’t matter much to me. The ceviche has raw shrimp like completely raw the skin was still blueish grey, the scallops were raw, the crab meat was raw… I have never had a raw bowl of seafood I just couldn’t bring myself to eat it so I had the roasted oysters instead. They were extremely salty, not a dish I would recommend. As an entree I’m ordered the lobster, rice was burned, refried beans were also burned and the lobster was gross. Pretty expensive for the food to be sub par. Our waitress was great and super accommodating, I hope she sees this and knows she was appreciated it can’t be easy serving 7 tipsy women. I would recommend visiting to say you did it but the hostess and quality of the food wouldn’t...
Read moreI am not one who will usually leave any kind of bad review for a restaurant but I find myself having to come and share my experience. I visited LMNO last night for a girlfriend of mine, to celebrate her 30th birthday. I was pleased by the restaurant ambience. I cannot deny that, it was very cutesy and subtle with pretty low lighting. I was upset with my overall experience though because my friends and I ordered drinks. They asked to ID us which is normal because we all have very young faces. The waitress took my ID and viewed it and didn’t mention any kind of issue or red flag, she proceeded to take our orders and say that she’ll be back with drinks and apps. Next thing, the manager comes to our table and asks to review my ID again so i pulled it out with no issue. My drivers license it was, actually! Not expired, nothing wrong with it. My picture matches my appearance. I’m always served with no issue anywhere i go. This manager proceeded to tell me he didn’t feel comfortable with serving me. Not sure why, but he assumed my ID was fake. I then pulled out my REAL ID, the one containing the star, as Government mandate. He still denied serving me a drink because he felt as though now, because I have “two ideas” he doesn’t think they are authentic. So im like okay, no biggie. I just wanted to eat mainly so it wasn’t a worry. It really ticked me off though when a new waitress came out with ALL of the drinks we ordered, including mine after I was denied twice by the manager. THEN the new waitress says “I’ll be taking care of you for the rest of the evening!” So now, not only did they just inconvenience me in front of everyone, they switched our server and did not even apologize! Then they rushed us to order, and rushed us to pay because it was pushing closing time, but they had us waiting for over an hour for apps, because our server felt guilty over stirring things up over my ID. I did have the chicken tacos though with a French 75 and a side of rice and refritos. Tacos were amazing! Rice was OK. They overload you with peas, carrots and corn. More veggies than rice but it wasn’t a big deal, I still ate it. The refritos could’ve been better, seasoned a little better and keep the red onions off, does not compliment the dish well. Overall rate this place 2.5/10. May be back for tacos but...
Read moreMy 1st time here and LAST time here. I’ll start with the good - The food is GOOD and that’s all. I can’t speak on every waitress but my gosh the one I had was the epitome of horrible! From her poor body language to her huffing a puffing at every request which I may add no request was one outside of anything a restaurant does - I asked for no ice and light ice in a drink and the world caught fire. I mean didn’t want to clear our table after we were done with the item we finished eating and when asked “oh please give me a second” every time not once did she serve us without asking for something. Nothing but attitude from the start, didn’t even introduce herself with her name and a welcome to the restaurant or even asked if we’ve been here or 1st time and lastly NO SMILE - this is Philadelphia there are some phenomenal wait staff out there and she was not one of them. When ordering drinks it literally took 20 mins to get a second drink. And then when the drink (same drink) comes it was in a different glass so I asked for the same glass had before and once again the world caught fire and she huffs and power walks off like some crack head from Kensington and Allegheny - no joke. This was the poorest experience I’ve ever had in a premium establishment (price wise). Things were so bad I had to go up to the host and ask for a manager and that took another 10 mins or more. I watched him walk over and perception is key! The managers body language was exactly the same as hers if not worse and I’ll just some this part us with four words, he kicked us out! Literally! He purposed zero alternative. Us leaving was the only solution - and if I’m lying, then I’m flying and trust I don’t have wings… Told me to find somewhere else to eat. Northern liberties is white and for the whites. Yes, I’m a person of color and when u are a customer that’s upset and someone tells you that you should fine somewhere else to eat after you explain what difficulties they are experiencing during their dining experience… yes, you feel as though you can blow people of color off with zero effort. Whomever, the owner is, I urge you to employ not only lovers of servicing people and enhancing the customer experience but people who LOVE PEOPLE!! This was a situation where...
