Fishtown Social — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I’ve been to Fishtown Social many times and every experience has been great. Every wine/cocktail I’ve ordered has been very enjoyable. The whites and oranges are among the best I’ve ever had. I know I can try a few different wines here that I wouldn’t normally drink because the menu is always strong.

The service has always been friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I was just here last night catching up with some friends. Even though it was last call and close to closing, the servers were very patient and accommodating. In the past, they’ve also helped me choose from their bottle shop selection in the back.

I know bartenders can’t legally tell a person who’s pregnant they can’t serve them, but what about a woman at the bar breast feeding her baby and drinking wine simultaneously? I wanted to give this place a try about a month ago, but that was the sight I was greeted with upon entering the bar. I would like to touch on the fact that I don’t have a problem with public breast feeding, and I support it but I know for a fact you aren’t supposed to be consuming alcohol while you do it. The wine list is very thoughtful. The bartenders were polite and attentive. But as a party of one at the bar, I was charged a 20% gratuity (usually only added to large parties at most restaurants) and given an un-itemized bill so i tipped on top of that total and didn't know until i got an emailed receipt from square an hour later. Seems deliberate, and a reason to not revisit.
