I’ve been a regular customer of Oasis Haven for the past two years. I’ve watched them grow from a tiny spot into a bigger, more popular restaurant. I usually don’t write reviews, but what happened today was so disrespectful and humiliating that I can’t stay silent.
Today was Eid, and I went to the restaurant with my wife and our 2-month-old baby, expecting to have a peaceful, celebratory meal. The restaurant was about 50% empty, and all three curtained booths — each of which can seat six people — were completely unoccupied.
I politely asked the server if we could sit in one of the booths, specifically because we had a newborn and needed privacy and comfort. The server lady was incredibly rude, showing zero empathy, and told us we couldn’t sit there because a group of six might show up — even though all booths were empty and no such group was in sight.
I then asked to speak with the manager, hoping for basic understanding. The manager came but didn’t say a single word — no explanation, no apology, just silent indifference. That’s not how you treat any customer, let alone a loyal one.
We left immediately without eating. I’ve never had such an awful experience at a restaurant in my life. It was humiliating, upsetting, and completely unacceptable.
I genuinely hope this restaurant runs out of business if this is how they treat people — especially families with infants on a day like Eid. They’ve permanently lost a loyal customer, and I’ll never...
Read moreShocked. In my 7 months living in Philly I finally found a place that feels authentic, has delicious food, and charges a fair price.
Sat down and was offered a free salad and lamb soup. My date and I almost declined thinking it was going to be too much food and we’re so glad the waiter insisted because they were both delicious.
We asked for hummus w/ lamb and the mixed grill. The second we were brought the bread we knew we’d be coming back. Seasoned with sesame seeds, the bread covered most of our table and was absolutely delicious on its own. The meats (especially the lamb) were flavorful and imo cooked to perfection.
I could write more, but I wouldn’t do the food justice. But I will tell you this, the food was excellent and plentiful for the price. I have at least two meals leftover after stuffing myself last night.
The table service was also perfect, and the more time I sat at the restaurant the more welcome I felt.
It’s not so easy to go out these days with how expensive everything is getting. I oftentimes find myself getting disappointed by how bland or overpriced the food is. And now I finally found a place where that’s no longer the case. Come here and support this business and the...
