There are not enough words to express my gratitude to the team at Bucky Body Center. Kudos to Dr. Bucky for recruiting the best team in the Philadelphia area! I was skeptical of beginning my journey at Bucky Body Center not knowing whether the treatments would be the answer to many years of suffering from chronic lower back/SI joint and hip pain that still lingered post arthroscopic hip labral repair. After years of opting for just another injection, which only masked the pain I was suffering from, and continued build-up of inflammation, I opted to try manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) massage treatments with Sheila only hoping for the best. Let me just say, I immediately felt the benefits of Sheila’s treatments including reduced inflammation in my hip joint, increased mobility/flexibility throughout my joints and overall wellness through the release of toxins and the “detoxifying” effects that are often the most wanted results of MLD. Sheila is conscious of the time she has with you and ensures 100% of the time is spent making you feel the best version of you. No one treatment with Sheila is the same. We evaluate prior to each session how my body reacted to the previous treatment(s) in conjunction with how my body feels post-everyday activity/training (more to come here!) to game plan on the most effective sequence for that days treatment. Her expertise and precision in this field makes her one of the best!

Bucky Body Center also has one of (what I think) is the best cryotherapy chambers to offer to its clients. When beginning MLD with Sheila I opted to add-on the cryotherapy treatments post-massage, which I believe only intensifies the benefits of MLD and promotes a quicker response to the treatments. I would highly recommend this to anyone seeing Sheila to add cryotherapy to aid in your recovery from post-orthopedic surgeries or injuries.

It only took a few months (which is not long considering the length of time I’ve been dealing with my aches and pains) for me to feel my body was restored and capable of functioning day-to-day with minimal pain. However, Sheila had recommended that in order to take things to the next level and continue my upward recovery trend, I work with Andrew who specializes in functional patterns trainings at Bucky Body Center. From our first session together until now, Andrew continues to amaze me at his in-depth knowledge of how our muscles and joints work in conjunction with one another and also his ability to evaluate the way you move to identify potential issues within our own structures that may be the root of our pain. Andrew’s extensive knowledge on this form of training (which is unlike anything I have done before) guides you through training sessions specific to your body and its needs (and yes, he makes just breathing seem like the hardest thing to do!) to strengthen areas of weakness or those where engagement is non-existent, enabling your body to learn how it “should” move and what that feels like in the act of doing so.

Now several months into functional patterns training with Andrew followed by weekly treatments with Sheila, I wake up most days with very little to no lower back/SI joint/glute/hip pain. This is something that I did not think was feasible after years and years of constant pain. I cannot thank Andrew and Sheila enough for being the “A-team” I needed to revive my body from years of pain and endure the active lifestyle I choose to...

The front desk staff, administrative staff and nurses made every step of the rhinoplasty process painless. From scheduling, phone calls, financing, and medical questions everything was answered and completed in a timely manner. Each person I spoke with took the time to listen to all my questions and concerns and gave me everything that I needed. The nurses were kind, detailed in their explanations, upfront and honest, asked questions, and made sure I understood everything going on which eased my anxieties with undergoing a huge surgery physically and mentally.

Ultimately Dr. Smartt sold me on coming to the Bucky Body Center to get a rhinoplasty. After countless appointments with doctors who saw me for 5 minutes and doctors who barely took the time to answer my questions and listen to my extensive history of breathing difficulties and cosmetic concerns, Dr. Smartt was the one to listen to me. He provided me with all the information and answers I needed to make an informed decision on my next steps. Dr. Smartt has a great bedside manner and can explain everything in a patient friendly way. He was there for me during the entire process; pre-op, during surgery and post-op. I never once felt alone, confused, or anxious.

Dr. Smartt did an incredible job. I am happy with the results and the balance between functional needs and cosmetic desires. I am more confident in my appearance, and I do not regret my decision to work with Dr. Smartt at the Bucky...

The entire team here is amazing! I have been to the office in Washington Square for fillers, so when they mentioned their new body center in rittenhouse square for a procedure I was considering, I knew I was in great hands.

From the second I decided to make a consult, Majo and Karen were absolutely amazing. They answered questions, responded quickly and connected me with Luke for a pre-consult conversation. When I came in for the in-person consult, the facility was as expected: extremely clean, modern and equipped with the best technology and team, for any non-OR procedure you may be considering.

Even after the appointment, I had some additional questions so Majo scheduled a call with Dr. Smart who was extremely patient and understanding. He answered all my questions and left no doubt that I was ready for the next step.

The day of my procedure everything went smoother than I could have expected. Luke greeted me and got me set up, while Majo helped my parents get situated in another room so they could comfortably wait for me to be done. I was in and out within 2 hours! While I know every patient is different for recovery, I have to say mine was beyond my expectations. I had the procedure on Thursday and was able to join my family for Easter on Sunday, without my extended family even knowing!

If you’re considering any kind of cosmetic procedures there is only one place you should be going in the Northeast - Bucky’s Body Center. Best money you’ll ever spend.
