Shake Shack Center City - Rittenhouse — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I have been eating at Shake Shack ever since it opened and I have never once been disappointed. It is clear that they emphasize quality customer service--all the employees are always friendly, enthusiastic, and ready to serve. No matter what I'm in the mood for, I can always find something on the menu to satisfy my craving; whether it be a chicken sandwich, a cheeseburger, a cheese-stuffed, crisp-fried portobello mushroom burger, or a cheeseburger topped with a cheese-stuffed, crisp-fried portobello mushroom burger! Not to mention the fries (both plain and cheese-topped) are yummy as are the shakes, custards, and concretes (speed-blended custard with a variety of mix-ins; you can either choose from the seasonally rotating menu selections or create your own!). Let me start by saying the only reason I’m deducting a star is because on multiple occasions I popped in and placed an order and waited for 30+mins. The staff is friendly but seem to have one speed and don’t seem to be cross trained to assist each other. I was nervous when they came to Phila, i thought here goes one of my favorite spots to grab a burger while in NYC (has to be 20 years now) that’s going to be ruined by them trying to replicate it exactly as they’re in NYC. They didn’t. They kept everything you love about the food in NYC and infused some of Phila into it. I stopped by this location on 7/12/25 for a sweet treat after a show at Helium Comedy Club. The 12th is my birthday and I wanted to grab a sweet treat before I went to my car. The lovely person at the counter was Morgan, who greeted me with a radiant smile and kindness in her voice. She complimented my glasses and answered all of my questions (even about finding a local ATM machine). The gentleman behind the counter with her was just as wonderful and hepful but I didn't remember to grab his name.
