Center for the Urban Child — Local services in Philadelphia

I made an appointment here for my newborn, I wasn’t expecting a bad experience because I know a few people who have taken their kids here before but when I walked in I immediately knew I was not going through with my appointment for my baby. The floors were dirty, there was a massive amount of people just walking around the waiting area looking confused. There were children running around and acting a fool(older children). Most of the parents were glued to their phones not watching their kids. It was massively unorganized, I don’t know how to explain the aura of this place but it was gross and uncomfortable. My anxiety was through the roof from the minute I walked in and I was even anxious on the way home. I made an appointment elsewhere for my baby and won’t be returning here. The name says it All!! Honestly, can you get any more ghetto than that? They over schedule so you can expect to sit and wait all day, the doctors are allergic to listening and assume every child has the same issue and are below sub par. They are associated with the worse children's hospital in the World then brag about how many kids they see because the folks in the area don't have a chose and its dead smack in the middle of ground one of the open heroin market Visit at your own risk. You can forget about getting anybody by phone too they are always experiencing higher than normal call volumes because they are obviously allergic...

I just took my daughter to her & my grand baby's first well visit. The facility is not only dirty but the examination room have damaged sheet rock with holes in them & the sheet dust on the walls & on the ground. If that wasn't enough, despite the baby being in mint condition, a social worker was sent to our room. My daughter is a teenager so they deemed her high risk & referred her to the 2nd flr for teenager mothers. They also reported us to child services. How does a baby's first well visit turn out...
