I made an appointment for a vibrant color & haircut. I was excited, always patient and amenable. I don't know why my hairdresser treated me as she did. We had a chat early on in my appointment about parking & Septa which included her finding out where I live. And after, she didn't say much to me. My bleach was left on so long it burned my forehead at the hairline (in 15+yrs of bleaching my hair in salons and at home, I've never had a burn). Though my color was a simple all-over application, when washing it out she missed spots and I had to sit in the wash chair as it absorbed. What should have been a 3 hr appointment took over 6hrs. I sat, increasingly lightheaded, sipping water from 9-4 (even as the staff ordered food and smoothies - I didnt know I'd be there so long and it felt too forward to add to the order, but the hairdresser knew how long I'd be there). I was quoted around $250, they said it depends on how long the hair is. My chin length bob of fine hair cost 325$. The hairdresser and assistant were whispering at checkout as the hairdresser was saying the cost was because of all the rinses (which were also excessive compared to normal). But I was just happy to have my hair cut and colored finally so I left a huge tip because I m about good energy and went on my way.
I get home and begin scrubbing the dye off my hairline and found my hair cut was completely lopsided - appearently I was too exhausted at the end of the appointment to ask for a mirror to see the back of my head, since one was not offered like normal. At checkout, the assistant had run my card and said I was all set, I had to inquire about tipping. This now makes me think the hairdresser knew she was actively ignoring me and doing a piss poor job and so didn't expect me to leave anything. Or maybe she didn't think I would leave a tip from the start because I live in a "rough" area.
I had to go to Supercuts the next day to get my hair fixed.
I wish I never tried this salon. There are plenty of other places to get what was a basic cut and a simple bright color dye without spending over 7 hrs, two days and 500$+. And there are plenty of other salons that employ individuals that aren't shitty to new clients for no reason.
The vibes were off at the beginning when she was annoyed I didn't bring a "photo for inspo" but I forgave the attitude thinking it's early on a Saturday. But then bleach goes on and there's nothing I felt I could do but be positive... This was an exhausting experience you should skip. Book...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been seeing Diane for 2 years and its no wonder why I keep going back!! The salon is super trendy and stylish located in Queen Villiage. When you walk in the door, you're greeted by warm and friendly faces. The sweet little tippy taps of the tiniest and sweetest salon mascot, 15 y/o Rocky the pup is very welcoming as well! The unique and colorful wall art and decor is so refreshing. The wooden/slate floors are neat and clean and add to a very modern design. There is a coffee station for that morning or afternoon boost and other refreshments are offered if you're looking to relax and unwind while being pampered. I go from deep rooty balayage in the colder months to MUCH blonder in the summer. I also bounce around with differnt cuts. From a shaggy bob with tons of texture to a grown out pixie with customized side and undercuts. I'm always getting compliments! Diane is an amazing colorist and stylist with the patience of a saint when transitioning my seamless styles. I have referred family, friends, co-workers and patients to Di's color crazy and they all have the best experience. The staff is up to date on all latest styles, trends, and products. There is even temporary color tinted shampoo if you want to try something different! Did I mention the salon was recently renovated?!?! The new addition is complete with a spray tan area, spa-like facials, waxing, and even Lash extensions! This is a one stop shop for all of your beauty and pampering needs. Diane and her team also do mens cuts. My husband is kept trim and clean cut with a faded short look that is blended perfectly into his beard. I can keep raving about Diane and her salon, but why dont you go check it out for...
