Soren is a real gem as far as people in the local music scene are concerned. The practice spaces he operates out of this building are well maintained and the gear is good quality, especially the drums. Any drummer knows how it is at most hourly places. You're lucky if the people that own the studio have changed the drum heads or done any maintenance within the last several years, let alone supplying God quality drums that are TUNED. My band use to come to him hourly and when we got our space in the same building Soren even let us use a room last minute one time when ours had flooded. It also seems some folks in these reviews are mistaking him for the building's actual management, probably because he stocks the bathrooms and regularly cleans up the hallways around his spaces. This guy cares so much that he actually does someone else's work for them and really goes above and beyond to make Pickle a quality spot. Don't listen to these morons who can't tell the difference between a fellow tenant and the building's lazy owners. If you need a good hourly practice space,...
Read morePickle is the spot to be for all your rehearsal needs! I’ve been rehearsing weekly for the past 6 years through a couple different bands and it was only after we found Pickle that it became a nice easy routine. No huge staircases to walk up (those who bring their gear weekly will appreciate this), clean (he even recoils all the cables in the room between each band) snacks/drinks and beautiful sound treated rooms. I’d like to say that the owner, Soren, has become a friend since our time here, even after we moved from our hourly rental to a monthly rental in the same building. He has came out and supported us at shows and as another reviewer mentioned even looked after our room when we had flooding issues. Mine you this wasn’t even a room we were paying him for. That’s the kind of guy he is and the business he runs. Soren and Pickles Rehearsal Studios are a huge part of the local DIY Philly music scene. I would 100% recommend Pickle to any...
Read morePickle is one of the best options for band practice in Philly. The prices are comparable/similar to other places you could rehearse, and sometimes cheaper as the different rooms have discounted rates at certain times. You have the option to ball out on their catalog of available equipment, but all the standard included gear is perfect for a band practice and well maintained. The owner is super nice, great with communication, has snacks available for purchase, and its clear he puts a great deal of care into the space and service. Plus free stickers too!! The website is easy to use for information or booking, bookings are confirmed at multiple points to ensure clarity, and I've always had a smooth experience. Its cool to see all the local bands that hold practice here and Pickle has definitely become a keystone in the community. Reliable, easy, professional, and all around positive...
