Went for dinner for the first time to try something new. Only "complaints" are relatively minor. We started with cocktails - one off the menu and one a classic that I like to see how new bars do. Both were excellent and made correctly. Ordered the $15 cheese plate (picked 3 from their list of 6). Servings of cheese seemed right for the price and we were each able to enjoy several pieces different ways. For mains we both went with the burger and were not disappointed at all. Bun was a good size (not one of those huge ones where you're eating 80% bread), burgers were well formed, cooked properly and very juicy. For the price it's definitely one of the better burgers I've had in a long time.
Now a couple minor issues that stood out. We were never offered water and had a to ask for it a couple times. I believe that should be the first thing on a guests table. The cheese plate didn't have enough bread. We were a two top and ordered 3 cheeses - yet were given 3 pieces of bread. First, it should be an even number we don't have to tear a piece in half, and maybe once piece each for each cheese. The burger was under seasoned and there was no s&p on the table. Luckily the fries (which were fantastic) were salty so that helped. My biggest peeve was the wine. Ordered a glass of Cabernet ($14). When it came out the first thing my wife said was did I order a half glass? It was a very short pour - and not the waiter as I saw him measure it in a different glass (measuring wine pours is something that really irks me too). My guess it was a 3.5oz pour - for $14 from a $10 bottle of wine. If so, they're getting 7 glasses ($98) from one $10 bottle. I understand wine markup in the industry, but that's pretty aggressive - especially when the pour looks so small in the glass. Will definitely stick to beer next time and not order any wine...
Read moreI've been to this establishment (as different companies and organizations have been through this location) for the past 5-6 years, and this is the first time I've come here where I felt truly taken care of from beginning to end. Being someone who has A TON of questions about the drinks and food (cus I know what I like 😉) the staff is knowledgeable, and if they're not certain of something, they find out for you! They're super happy to make your experience the best one!
Now Abraham Cheatham (the new renound head chef at Bar Lizette) has REALLY out done himself. The mixtures of flavors and knowledge behind his artistic creation put onto a silver platter is SPECTACULAR. I have a dairy allergy, so he was easily able to remove or help me out with suggestions. My partner has a gluten allergy and that was also an easy mod for Chef Abraham. It's very clear, that Chef has a love and passion for the food arts and it's presentation to every table. There were tables around us wanting to especially thank the chef for how lovely their unique experience was as well. I HIGHLY recommend this experience for anyone who passes by, whether that's a family outing or a cozy date night, you're bound to have the experience of a lifetime from...
Read moreFrom other reviews on Yelp, we may just have eaten here on a very “off night”. The place was fairly busy for a Sunday night before Christmas so possibly the problem was due to a staff shortage. It was also freezing cold inside and apparently nothing could be done to crank up the heat. In fact, cold air was pouring down on our heads. We waited at least an hour after eating our soups to get our entrees. Aside from waiting forever to get our food, it was fairly tasteless. My “shaved radish arugula salad had only a few paper thin slices of radishes and pieces of goat cheese that were minuscule, along with a few pieces of walnuts. My friend’s burger was fine but the chosen “salad” instead of fries was no more than a few pieces of arugula with nothing else. Another friend’s entree, a mushroom cassoulet, while a good size portion, was almost tasteless. The servers tried their best but it was an...
