I was so looking forward to trying this restaurant and am sad to have to leave a poor rating!
We (party of 4) arrived and were seated upstairs. We didn’t receive a drink menu. Our waiter came to explain the menus and completed his explanation of the drink menu before we were able to interrupt and ask for one. He forgot to bring the drink menu. When we did receive it, we placed orders immediately. The drinks took a VERY long time to come out and meanwhile our waiter didn’t come check on us to take our order so we had to flag down another waitress to ask where our waiter was. It still took several minutes and we actually stood up to leave and go somewhere else (it had been 40 minutes since we were seated at this point) when our waiter noticed and came over right away with our drinks. He apologized. We placed an order for three sandwiches, one pizza, and a pretzel starter. The pizza came out VERY quickly and the pretzels shortly after. In the time it took between the pizza to arrive and the sandwiches to arrive, I could have eaten the entire pizza. I felt so bad that I was served so much earlier than my friends. I have a suspicion that the pizza was meant for another table because at a later point, our waiter was holding a pizza, came over, saw I was already eating one, and turned around. At a later point, we were also almost served a second soft pretzel appetizer. Perhaps there was confusion about what dishes were going to which tables. To their credit, my wife ordered a beer at one point and it came out right away. Unfortunately, the food was just ok. The personal pizza was $21 and the sandwiches were $19 and were just not worth the cost. The sandwich bun was very soggy to the point of falling apart. The pizza was supposed to have sausage and I guess it was pepperoni instead? The balsamic glaze was very overpowering. I did enjoy it overall but I don’t think, for the size, it was worth $21. Also, this is not the responsibility of the restaurant at all, but a child was running around our crowded dining area and their mother was play-chasing it around instead of having it sit back down at the table or taking it outside. This was distracting, loud, and unpleasant. However, again, NOT the responsibility of the restaurant but rather 1) an addition to our poor experience and 2) a call out to parents who think this behavior is acceptable. We won’t be returning. The only redeeming quality was that the fries that came with the sandwiches...

Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Toska Restaurant Brewery, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the pizzas we ordered. We opted for two pizzas: "The Motherland" and "The Veg." Both were cooked to perfection in their authentic wood fire oven, which added a distinct smoky flavor to the crust.
"The Motherland" pizza was a true masterpiece. Topped with a delectable combination of premium ingredients, including succulent Sujuk (Albanian Sausage) / San Marzano Tomato, Saputo Gold Mozzarella / Caramelized Onion / Fig Balsamic Glaze, it was a carnivore's dream come true. The crust wascrispy, providing an ideal base for the robust flavors to shine through. Each bite was a burst of savory goodness.
As for "The Veg" pizza, it was a delightful surprise for my vegetarian friend. Packed with an assortment of fresh vegetables, San Marzano Tomato/ Mushrooms / Saputo Gold Mozzarella / Cherry Tomatoes / Asparagus / Caramelized Onions/ Fresh Basil / Extra Virgin OIl / Fig Balsamic Glaze a sprinkling of herbs, it was a colorful and wholesome delight. The balance of flavors was impeccable, and the wood fire oven imparted a smoky essence that enhanced the overall taste.
To complement our pizzas, we indulged in the locally brewed "Mount Airy Ale" from Toska's own brewery. The ale was a perfect accompaniment, with its smooth and refreshing qualities. It was evident that great care was taken in crafting this brew, and it paired harmoniously with the rich flavors of the pizzas.
The ambiance of Toska Restaurant Brewery was warm and inviting, with a rustic charm that added to the overall experience. Sylvia were friendly and attentive, ensuring that our needs were promptly attended to throughout the evening.
In conclusion, Toska Restaurant Brewery exceeded my expectations with its mouthwatering pizzas and excellent selection of beverages. The wood fire oven lent a unique touch to the pizzas, creating a memorable dining experience. Whether you're a meat lover or a vegetarian, their menu has something to suit every palate.
