I walked into the ER with what I thought was just a worsening flu joking to my fiancé that I didn't know if I needed to really be there. The reception was great at the ER Waiting Room, and the wait was like 10 minutes or less to be seen. Mind you this was around midnight on a Friday night. As soon as I got into the ER, they took my vitals & my blood oxygen level was seriously low. From then on I was being attended by nurses, doctors, NPs in the waiting room. They took chest X-Rays & a CT Scan and confirmed I had pneumonia in both of my lungs. Naturally they wanted to admit me to the hospital. The ER's nursing staff was incredible at keeping me calm in a frightening situation, the patient care advocates in the ER are amazing, the nursing assistants are incredible. I felt very comfortable with the care I was receiving, and never once did I feel judged, or uncomfortable. When I was admitted, they sent me to the ICU because they had beds. The doctors, nurses, NPs, patient care assistants, PAs, respiratory techs, CNA's were all extremely attentive, comforting, and sweet. The next night, I was moved upstairs to another unit, and I couldn't believe the level of care was even better in the second unit. I am really grateful for the care of Dr. Nekoranik. He had extensive tests ran to determine the causes of my pneumonia, and didn't stop until they found the exact virus & the exact bacterial infections I was dealing with. I was so impressed that he even had them run allergy tests on me to also determine/ weed out if allergies were playing a larger role with the pneumonia. The respiratory team actually got my stubborn self comfortable using a CPAP machine, which up until my hospital stay I had never been able to stay compliant. They were great and worked with me to find a mask I could actually stand. I have never felt better taken care of, and more comfortable in a situation like that. All the details were taken care of, even the food staff were beyond helpful with their suggestions and help. I was so touched and taken aback by the level of care I received that after my stay, I made sure to change all my doctors to practices affiliated with St. Luke's Warren Campus. I can't thank this hospital enough for helping me through a rough bought of double pneumonia. Even after I was home, I received a get well card from the nurses on the unit I was in. Again, it's the details and the patient experience that really makes St. Luke's special. I never want to have to go back to the hospital, but I know if I ever need to, I can trust in St. Luke's Warren Campus to be there for me. Thank you...
Read moreI went here on the 18th of April with extreme pain which turned out to be my gallbladder. The nurses were great and my Er doctor wAs fantastic and he managed my pain appropriately and accordingly without hesitation. He explained everything and layed out my opinions. I had my gallbladder out that afternoon and my surgeon Dr yanagowa and his Pa were absolutely amazing. The rest of the surgical team were great as well. The guy who put me to sleep listened to me when I asked him not to push the Medication to fast because it burns if you do. This was my first surgery and it was a very simple procedure but my husband was not with me before I went to the or and I was scared.. then Cameron came over with a Batman surgical hat on and it was just everything to me because my husband loves Batman so it comforted me and made it feel like my husband was there in spirit and then I was good. Dr yanagowa was also very good with aftercare!
Unfortunately I had blood pressure issues afterwards and ended up in the Er last week for it. I had taken a prescription anxiety pill before I had went to make sure it wasn’t anxiety. Just one pill exactly how it’s prescribed to me .While I was there I started developing some serious symptoms that resembled a stroke to the point where I wasn’t even able to speak. The pa Bethany chamberlin who was taking care of me had come in after a nurse told her what was happening and she said to me with an attitude I think that you took too much klonopin I think you took more than what you told me bc you are acting like you are high! I was so offended but I couldn’t get my words out and all she then did was check my pupils told me they were dialated but fro The klonopin and left and when she came back she was like with an attitude I checked your history and I think this is just some underlying psych issue and I don’t wanna do a ct because I don’t want to damage your brain anymore and sent me home... Unfortunately something seriously was wrong with me I’d found out after going to...
Read moreI used to live in NJ and was visiting when I fell and broke my arm on 04/10/2023. Upon entering the ER I presented MY CURRENT DRIVER"S LICENSE with MY CURRENT address in another state. The Nurses and Doctors were excellent HOWEVER after not receiving a bill for several months I called. The billing person I spoke with asked me for my address, after some confusion on her part, she tells me they have been mailing the bill to a Hampton address, A HAMPTON NJ address that I have not lived at since 2004! I asked why it wasn't changed when I presented my ID at time of service, her response was oh they wouldn't do that, WELL THEY SHOULD!!! I work in the medical field and there is a reason why we ask for ID and Insurance. Failure to do the job correctly is half the problem with Healthcare. IF I HAD NOT CALLED my bill would have gone to collections and negatively effected MY CREDIT!!! I called and left a message regarding this on their line dedicated to complaints/concerns, NEVER did anyone call me back. DO the job correctly from the initial point of contact. Patients get their bill promptly without the time and trouble of trying to track the bill down so one can actually pay it. OH and when I received the bill yesterday it was in a hand addressed envelope with the address I gave to the billing person, SHE COULDN'T EVEN BE BOTHERED TO CORRECT THE ADDRESS ON THE ACCOUNT. Thank you St Luke's for your stellar employees!, I paid my $1928.61 bill...
