DO NOT ever rent any, I mean any of their Heavy Equipment, unless you are ready to be held liable for expensive repairs on their poorly maintained and 'High Rental Hour' equipment ... on Sept 9th 2022 I rented their John Deere 50G mini excavator with over 2,300 of 'RENTAL HOURS' on it, ... not just any hours, but 2,300 RENTALS HOURS on it ... to remove 7 stumps on my property ... the machine had just been dropped off from a different job site in Mora, no inspections or anything before handing it over to me and unfortunately the machine broke down after just 2 hours of usage... the pin and bracket broke while doing exactly what it was rented for: 'Dig out stumps' ... but, when the owner showed up, he wanted me to pay for all the repairs, around $1600 in total.. I don't think so, there is no sign of abuse or misuse it was doing exactly what it was rented for, and the parts in question could have been compromised at the other job site it came from.. he even claimed 1. this machine isn't meant for removing stumps when his employees knew what I rented it for, and 2. His own delivery guy that dropped off the machine is on security camera footage looking at the 7 stumps I was showing him for the job.. and no doubts that the machine is not suitable for the job!!
This is also the third equipment failure with them, in 2020 the smaller 27D mini excavator popped one of the rubber tracks on flat ground ... 4 hours downtime until they came to fix it.. and in 2019 an aerial lift malfunctioned almost immediately, good thing I wasn't in the bucket... couple of hours downtime until they replaced it with another.
Don't take a chance, they will try to take advantage of you .. go...
Read moreI’m sorry to say this but this company is trying to pass their issue to you as a renter. I was given an old hydraulic line on one of the bobcat, and it leaked after an hour of use. I called and took photo of the used bridle line that has multiple bridle spots which was about to leak. The company knows this and will try to pass the issue to their customer so be warned. I had to buy a new line with a new coupler for over $160 to fix their issue when they could’ve installed a line that’s not about to leak. And, they still charge me an additional $65 for a coupler when I got them a new line that cost me over $160 to fix their issue. All in all, I paid over $800 for a one day use of a bobcat that I was able to use less than 4 hours because of their crappy maintenance and blaming the customer so they can get new parts. Read moreSo sad, rented, per conversation on phone, was told 1 fee, came in and looked like a different fee on paper; less, so I was ok, they never explained how they'll end up charging at time of paper receipt and signing, my mistake, trusted them, so you walk away, come back bringing it back, and bam! A wopping much bigger fee than originally was told, obviously they got reasonable explanation. Very slick tactics. I'd say excellent if you want to make money. But horrible at expense of customer. Be watchful and upfront. Understand everything. Look at smaller print of hours etc. Ask questions, don't fall for -- all good, everything goes attitude. Just saying, people getting very creative at getting you to pay extra. There's extras everywhere. Unfortunate. Can't trust anyone. It's all business and money is root of all evil. Really liked renting from them...
