I must first start off by saying the Dr. Yamile Barge is AMAZING. This review is in no way a reflection of her service as a dermatologist. This is review is in reference to the office staff, specifically Michelle the office manager. I had an appointment on 7/22/14 with Dr. Yami at 12:45PM and I had an appointment to do a facial at 1:30PM. I arrived at 12:30PM and was not taken into the room until about 1:20PM. At about 1:10PM, I notified the receptionist that I had a facial at 1:30PM and that I have not been called to see the doctor still. She told me that Dr. Yami had one patient in front of me and that I was next. I was finally seen by Dr. Yami and we finished at about 1:45PM. At that moment, I told Dr. Yami and the nurse that I had a facial appointment and the nurse walked me over. When I got to the facial office, the facialist told me that she is only able to do a 30 minute service because I was late. I explained to her that I was not late, but that it took very long to see Dr. Yami. I explained that it was something out of my control and when I made the appointment, I let the front desk know that I was coming in to do both services. She told me that there was nothing she can do but that she will speak with the office manager. The service I received next was unacceptable. The office manager was Michelle. She came and asked me what the issue was. I explained to her what was going on and she said there was nothing she can do. I told her that the doctor was recommending it and if there was any flexibility she can have with me. She told me that they cannot do anything and they are open 9 to 4 Monday thru Friday for facials. After getting very little response from her, I spoke with another nurse that works in the office and she advised that she would speak with the office manager and see if there was anything else that can be done for me. The nurse advised me to wait in the front since someone will be coming by to help me. I waited for a while and no one came by. After assisting a patient, the nurse came out again and asked if I had been helped and I told her no. Michelle (office manager) then came out and told me "I cannot have you here screaming or I will ask you to leave." At no moment was I screaming or forming a scene. I was verbalizing my frustrations with the nurse. I then told Michelle that I was asking for some flexibility in my situation and her response in a nasty manner was "You already told me that you cannot come. We are only open Monday thru Friday from 9 to 4 PM. What day do you want it? Tell me the day." Michelle is a very unprofessional manager and was not helpful or at least COMPREHENSIVE with my situation. In no moment was I being nasty, I was only asking for some understanding. Instead of spending the 30 minutes I had trying to accommodate my schedule and maybe another patients, she made me wait and wait and wait for an answer. I love coming to Dr. Yami's office but seeing Michelle or known that she is "managing" the office makes me very angry. If they knew Dr. Yami was running late, they should have accommodated me and the schedules so that I did not miss my facial...
Read moreVery, very disappointed. The prior two times both PA’s (male & female) were well mannered and had great interpersonal skills, knowledgeable in their specialty, plus respectful towards “The Patient.” 3rd time around, Dr Fox was the provider, little did I know, he came in and was basically ready to treat the number and not the patient(s). Mind you this is the second and 3rd time I bring my kids in to treat Molloscum & palmar warts, one would think HE would have an open mind to hear suggestions as I too have had a history of these virus producing lesions when I was an adolescent. To no avail, he was passive aggressive and basically did not go above and beyond to treat this recurring issue. I for one explain my experience and yes I also studied 8 years, b it for him to passive agressively tell me IN FRONT of my children, “I am an expert of Dermatology and you deal with Anesthesia, let me do my job,” was a bit of a stretch. Especially in front of my kids, very, very rude. My 13 year old even noticed his demeanor and said to me in confidence that he felt uncomfortable. Luckily, my 4 year old is not aware, but the fact he then proceeded to administered “Beatle Juice” to molluscum after a 2nd attempt (first treatment was 1 month ago with cryo,” one would think to hear advice and possibly utilize a more aggressive technique, e.g., extraction… Maybe he didn’t want to take his time since it was like 20 separate growths…. Oh wait, he was quick to say my 4 year old had human papilloma on his elbow with out examine it. I mentioned it was just a scab, sure enough he put on his “little” lense and noticed he was wrong, did he admit it. What do you think, of course not. Do you think at this point I wanted a physician like himself and his demeanor to treat my kids, I had already taken the entire day off, picked up my 13 year old early from school while congruently taking care of my 4 year old, type 1 diabetic child in order to make this appointment. Maybe he was having a bad day, or maybe he is a physician who is an astute person who feels theory/knowledge is paramount… I don’t disagree, but sometimes experience & bedside manner can speak volumes to the overall care in which a “Doctor” treats their patients. Will definitely not ever be back, sad because I have 3 boys and was hopeful I had found a Dermatology office that was more patient oriented than just a...
Read moreI was at the clinic on June 21st for the first time to get help with flakes on my scalp, peeling on my soles and my 35 years old acne that no one seems to find a way to make it go away or get better. I was very pleased with how dr Jason conduct the appointment but I’m really unsatisfied by the post appointment service. He prescribed me several things for all my concerns and even referred me to an reproductive endocrinologist to check better my hormones levels. Well, the endocrinologist he referred me only take patients that are planing to get pregnant (not my case). Called the clinic to get either a new referral or some guide to what to do. That didn’t take me to no place giving that the person that picked out the phone just assumed that it would be ok for me to go to a regular endocrinologist given that I couldn’t go to the one referred. I told her that I could’ve assumed the same thing by myself but wanted to know what the doctor said for her to get the nurse practitioner to answer basically the same from the top of her head. Regarding the medication he prescribed me for my acne I still to this day have not been able to get it. My pharmacy tells me one thing and the clinic tells me another. Here yet I’m still waiting to start the treatment. I finally was able to get a call for the nurse this morning after asking 2 days ago for someone to call me because they relay on a message system that they have but takes them several hours to respond and most of the time you don’t get the answer to your question, for the communication on the phone being even more frustrating than the messages because not only she didn’t have any answers to why I’m still waiting after 3 weeks, and es using herself that they didn’t get any messages from my pharmacy (when I saw that they did at my CVS) and again didn’t know what to do with the endocrinologist situation. So if you are person that doesn’t want to get your time wasted and really eager to solve your skin...
