If I could put a zero on here for the salesman I used at the Port Charlotte store I would. My salesman name was Dewey, My wife and I went there looking for a living room set. Dewey approached us he seemed nice but just like every other salesperson in the end they will try and get one over on you. We found a living room set we liked he told us he would give us a discount of $180 and gave me a price after tax. I told him we had one more please to go before we made a decision. We went to the RTG didn’t find anything that worked. So we went back there told him we want to buy it. I got approved for 0% for 18 months all I had to pay was Sales Tax and Delivery. I told him I wanted to walk around and see if I like anything else so we did. We didn’t find anything and as we were walking to go finish the deal he says do you want a FREE rug? We said we don’t really need it but if your throwing it in and it’s free sure. These were the old rugs they were trying to get rid of. We picked the least ugliest rug that we didn’t really need lol. When we were doing the paperwork he said it’s gonna show that I charged you for the rug but I took it off the price of the couch. I said I don’t care as long as the bottom line number is correct and asked if the original $180 off would still be part of the deal and he said of course it would be. As he is telling me the figures of what I would be financing on the 0% I questioned the numbers and he kept going around it. So I paid the sales tax and deliver and my wife and I left. We were talking on the way home and something really didn’t seem right she was looking at the invoices and it didn’t add up. I called him and asked him to show it to me on a itemized bill. He told me to come in his manager would take care of it, so we turned around came in at that point they messed up and were trying to screw us and they knew it because the sales person and the manager were talking about how they structured the deal and then when we started questioning it, they were trying to act dumb about it that they charged me full price for the rug + sales tax and just put it on my charge card without me knowing and tried to play dumb about it. When my wife started doing the figures and showing them the manager kept trying to talk over her. She even told him stop throwing numbers out there and put it on “the tape” the big calculators that prints the numbers. He wouldn’t do it bc he was still trying to screw with the numbers to act as if she didn’t know what she was talking about. He then said your correct you were being charged full price for the rug. We then told them they lost a customer bc they tried lying and tried to con us into something we NEVER ASKED FOR OR EVEN NEEDED!!! We will never do business there again and if the couch wasn’t exactly what we wanted we would have made them return everything. Business shouldn’t be done that way. My wife and I both run business and would NEVER try to con anyone out of anything. I would recommend if you use them PAY ATTENTION bc they are shady!!!! The manager also tried telling us the couch was $100 more then what the figure was to try and “hide” the extra $100 they charged us but when my wife showed him the photo she took of the original price of the couch without ANY discounts he knew they were caught...
Read moreWe bought over $7000 in furniture when we moved back to Florida last June. We picked a dining room set , a bedroom set, a couch and two barstools first. Then, we came back and picked patio furniture. Our first problem was a defective chair. It was reordered but we received one with missing parts. We ended getting one from the showroom. The bedroom set was delayed over and over for at least 8 months. We were given dates for delivery every month then, they would tell us next month. When we found out that others who bought furniture after us were getting theirs first, we really got upset. They told us we could re- select another bedroom set since no one knew when our original order would come in. We picked another set we liked but ,then, found out that the set had gone up in price since we opened our ticket. It was $1700 more expensive now ( it was almost the same price as our original one last year). I asked them to call CORPORATE and ask if they would honor the price when the ticket was opened. CORPORATE said NO and that we would have to pay the difference. I offered to go halfway and pay half the increase with CORPORATE but, once again, CORPORATE said NO. We really felt that CORPORATE did not care about us at all. Finally, CORPORATE agreed to give us our money back and we had to wait four days for it Then, we found a great bedroom set at one of your competitors ( and it was more expensive) . To top it off, the couch we ordered came in defective and we had to exchange it for a new one. The second one came in also defective. The third one came in the same way and the fourth one also was defective. We went back to Kanes and decided to put an end to this reordering couches from that same company . We re- selected a new couch today but, since prices have been going up, we were told that ,again, we would have to pay the difference . We were told that CORPORATE would not give us credit for the NEW price of our couch but only what we paid last year. I offered to pay half the increase but was told that CORPORATE had only approved $150 ( which really only covers most of the sales tax ). Once again,, we had to pay the difference of $726 so we could select something new.. My wife was really upset and did not want to do any business with Kanes but I decided to give in since we need a couch to sit on. We were really upset that , after almost a year of going back and forth and getting technicians to come to the house on many occasions and getting four replacement couches , CORPORATE would not step up and treat us right. CORPORATE could have done a better job. Instead, we were made to feel unimportant and a bother. CORPORATE seemed to care more about getting more money out of us then trying to treat us right. Store management really tried to help but they kept being shut down by CORPORATE . I am not sure if we will ever go back to Kanes and even if I would recommend them to my friends and family . Read moreI don't know where to start, my husband and I just closed on our home and went to Kane's to pick out our furniture. The sales rep was extremely nice and helpful. We ordered a bedroom set with mattress, dresser, chase, and a chase with recliner. Our furniture was delivered on 12/31/19. When the furniture was delivered, shortly after we noticed a crack on the bedroom headboard and a crack on the dresser.We contacted customer service they had a tech come out and assess the furniture and he advised it needed to be replaced. We didn't notice until later there was a tear in our leather sectional.
I was advised to take a picture and send an email and that I would be contacted by management. Which I did, and I was advised the console would be replaced with the other furniture when it comes. The deliver guys came to replace the headboard, dresser, and console. During this process, my husband and I have been noticing that when we sit on the recliner part of the sectional, it goes, back on its own and will not stay up. We asked the guys about it and they advised us that it wasn't supposed to do that.
They looked over the sectional and noticed damage, they advised us that it was probably dropped during the process and they contacted customer service for us. Also, the deliver guys noticed the sectional was never put together when it was originally delivered. The deliver guys spent 45 minutes putting the sectional together properly as it wasn't the first time.The tech came back out and we showed him the issue. He left out of the house and came back with some tools to repair it. We advised him that we wanted another sectional and he advised us that he would have management contact us.
Management contacted us and we were advised that according to the tech, there is nothing wrong with the sectional. My husband and I have been fighting to get our sectional, that we are paying for replaced and we are told they will not replace it.
My husband and I are first time customers with Kane's and this will be our last, this has been a very disappointing experience. I have purchased furniture with other companies and I have never had these kind of issues.
You would think they would want to do right by their customers especially if they are a new customer. Well you have officially lost my future business and I have been telling people who are looking to purchase furniture with Kane's not to purchase.
