ALDI — Local services in Pittsfield Charter Township

Double charged for online order. I made an order one evening, but was unable to get to the store to pick up by 6 p.m. I figured it would get canceled. The next day, I saw that I had a confirmation of pick up sent to me at 4:55 a.m. saying my order was complete, that I had picked it up! I went to the store, was reassured by two male employees that it would be processed for refund, said they still had my cart and if I could still get my groceries from the day before, but I would have to check out again. They said to look for a refund for the order from the day before. They brought out a cart that had all the same groceries from my order. On check out, my total was a little less for some reason than the receipt from earlier that morning, they even said "you saved a little money." Well reviewing my bank statement, I see I was charged twice for groceries, there was no refund, clearly something is off here, and I feel cheated. Why would I receive a confirmation for a pick up at 4:55 a.m. the next day for a cart that was still...

People rag on this place a lot but you can’t beat the quality and prices. I do a lot of price shopping when doing my grocery lists and run by here and Meijer. For the bulk of my shopping, for a family of 5, I run by 300-400 every 2 weeks here. Produce stays fresh for a few days after getting it home, haven’t had an issue w meat, milk and eggs are cheaper, ice selection of frozen foods. There may not be large varieties of the same product (pasta for example), but what is there is good quality. Cashiers are always friendly and I rarely have an issue when finding someone for help. It a fan of the self checkouts (that’s any store when it’s a shopping cart full) but unlike most places, they have actual lanes open and not forcing customers to ring themselves out (as someone w some physical disabilities this is a blessing). Only issue is I wish they were open a little bit later a night like most of them used to be. Altho I do like the online...

This is the Aldi closest to my apartment and I love shopping here. Staff is always friendly and helpful and I get the impression that they all work together well. (You all know the feeling when you go to a grocery store and the managers and workers hate being there - it just makes it so unpleasant. I've never seen this here!)

I always choose Aldi over Meijer, Kroger, Target, and any other grocery stores in the area.

The only negatives are things that they cannot change. One is that I wish they could be open until at least 9pm because I tend to have time for shopping later in the day. I know this isn't up to the workers, or even the managers so I would never hold this against them. :)

The second is sometimes the one or two items I'm going in for aren't in stock. Once again this isn't their fault. With the pandemic and shipping days, it's just the luck of the draw sometimes.
