Not a very good first experience here. Went with a friend who decided to drive an hour out of Ohio for me to experience a "crave case"?! There are no White Castles in Canada. Anyway, we didn't get our food ordered through drive thru. We weren't told there was a half hour wait but was asked to wait in the disability parking spot #1 (which was already occupied). I went in to use the restroom and possibly order these cheese rings which were new. Not one of the 3 people serving and making the food looked up to even acknowledge I was there. I waited about 10 minutes then called my friend who just told me to come back into the car. Half hour later we were starting to question whether the last parked in spot #1 got our order but she got out of her car because I think she didn't receive her order as well.
An hour later we still did not receive our order. The young lady ahead of us received a free drink and her food but asked for her fries to be redone because they were cold and soggy. My friend was quite upset and ask for compensation. She received a lot of attitude and I was quite uncomfortable.
Never did I expect an establishment with so many fast food joints to be so rude. I feel like when you work there are certain customer service etiques you must follow and if it gets escalated you should have a person who is better trained to deal with your irritated customers who have been waiting over an hour for their meal. If not, at least let them know the current process so they can decide whether or not they would like to purchase an order. If it is going to be long, they should be notified through drive-thru or when ordering.
I'm quite disappointed that not one person said " hello, we're just a little busy and will be with you in a minute" or even look up at me when I was standing at the counter. Something should be said about this new generation who works but don't know how to handle customers who are waiting right in front of them.
I can't give a rating for the food but the experience was absolutely horrible. I hope all the other chain locations are not as rude and inconsiderate. I also think that head office should know that two other customers who are waiting in line left without ordering because of how poor the customer service was. I too think they were uncomfortable with the confrontation happening in the store.
Absolutely not a good experience that I will definitely share when I cross the border home.
Update: The manager called me to apologize. She said it is unusual for it to be so busy and therefore the staff were doing the best they could. I just reiterated that I felt that customer service needed to be improved on. At least they called back to acknowledge...
Read moreWhether going through the drive-thru or walking into the restaurant, speed does not seem to be a concern of the staff there. As I went through the drive-thru, the employees made me wait 5 minutes before allowing me to proceed with my order. As I waited, cars behind me drove away because of how long they were taking. Once I was allowed to proceed with my order, a lady with a weird southern-like accent attempted to communicate with me through her slurred speech. I placed my order: 4 original sliders, fries and a drink. As I pulled up to the window, I waited another 5 minutes for them to hand me my food. Going inside is even worse. As I walked into the restaurant, I stood in line behind 3 people. As I waited, two people left waiting for the employees to take the first guy’s order. Once I finally go to the front, it had already been 10 minutes. I ordered the same thing I got before, but with cheese. One of the employees was wearing her cap pointing straight toward the ceiling. I sat down in one of the corners of the restaurant. The restaurant was lit bright, but not too bright or too dim, just neutral. It was pretty quiet and had a good temperature. The furniture was in relatively good shape… except for the bottoms of some things. The bottoms of the chairs and tables were either rusted or stained black. Some of the legs of the chairs looked very bad. The walls are decorated with old black and white photos of the original restaurant and company. After waiting 20 minutes, I finally got my simple order of 4 sliders, fried and a drink… except I didn’t get a drink. After asking a few times, they gave me a cup. Waiting for the employees of White Castle is like old people making love—boring, disgusting, and very, very slow. I sat back down to eat my meal. The original 2 inch by 2 inch burger has two soft buns with a square all beef patty on the inside with pickles and onions. This slider can be served with catsup, mustard, and/or cheese. The combination of these ingredients combine to make a soft yet delicious slider with a little sweet and salty taste. They smell unlike most burgers with an onion like smell. This slider comes with a small fry. The fries are soft, yet crunchy, and wavy with a pinch of salt, but are a little dry. The meal also comes with a small drink. Whether you’re wanting something to eat for lunch, trying to get a late night snack, or craving those, “tender little White Castle burgers with those little, itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in your mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one” after watching Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, White Castle is the place to go… just...
Read moreMy family and I drove 45 minutes to visit the nearest white castle subsequently 45 minutes away. When we got to the restaurant we waited for about 2 minutes before the 3 staff members even acknowledged us, it was far less then welcoming just a simple "what do you want". We ordered $66 worth of food and sat down none of our drinks were given, and as we sat I noticed how utterly disgusting this restaurant lobby was. Filthy tables, garbage littered the floor, and the condiment station was disgusting, at this point I was ready to take a refund but instead we gave them the benefit of the doubt. It took them almost 35 minutes for us to receive our food and during this time I watched 4 seperate clients walk out because nobody came to take their orders at one point a man a man walked out super angry cursing under his breath because of his service. Finally we receivied our food and we were pleasantly surprise for the most part aside from having to return to the counter for food items they had forgotten, I purchased impossible sliders that were very good however my sons food was cold and he refused to eat it. Sadly we will not be back, the atmosphere is far less than ideal even for a fast food restaurant and the employees blatant lack of disrespect and disarray was reason enough to not to visit again which is sad because as a vegetarian it was a nice concept having menu selections I could eat. Whomever the owner is really needs to step back and change some things I'd be truly embarrassed if this was my establishment especially because they have the potential...
