Well, where do I start? I agreed in the office agreed that I would move in on 18 July. I was shown apartment 1906 and was told that 3203 was not available as they were getting it ready. I really like what I saw in apartment 1906 and agreed to move forward. I was told that today was the last day which was July 11 To submit an application for apartment 3203. So against my better judgment, I went ahead. I had a very nice young lady to show me the apartment name Fatima, but she was brand new and did not really know the property. She misinformed me about the apartment 3203. I repeatedly asked her if the bathroom was in the bathroom and she stated no everything is the same except you don’t have a den. I was OK with that so I signed all the paperwork gave the deposits and agreed to move in on July 18. I have a ESA animal which I provided the paperwork for and that was a smooth process. I had the lights turned on and did everything that I had to do on my end.. I arrived on July 18 only to be told that they were working on the leak in the bathroom and they would be completed shortly. I walked over to the apartment to find people going in and out of the apartment equipment everywhere the floor torn up, which you can see the pictures. I was very surprised that the bedroom included the bathroom which I was repeatedly told That it was not. I was completely horrified, but I thought it would stop there. It did not come to find out later that I had roaches other bugs. I had issues with the painting that was done Sloppily throughout the apartment. The patio door and locks did not work. The screens were filthy and torn. The front door had a huge gap in it where I could see basically outside and I had bugs coming through there. A few minor things such as the closet light not working properly and an electrical socket in the kitchen not working properly. I immediately realize after contacting the office several times that I had made a huge mistake moving here.. I had to delay my moving in because I was told I could not use the shower because the tub had to be painted you can See that in the photos. I could not move in. I could not move my cat in because of the caustic smell in the bathroom which led all over the apartment . Today is July 25 and after repeatedly calls to the office and also filling out the paperwork as to what was wrong. I placed a call to the management company after sending a detail email Which seem to go in their huge power of complaints and that sort. Pest control was supposed to come yesterday and I called the office repeatedly and no one called me back and pest control did not come. I have spent my own money on pest control solutions and still cannot bring my cat to the apartment nor feel safe sleeping there myself. this has caused me extreme distress and anxiety, as well as to my cat who thinks I abandoned her as she is staying across town at a relatives house while I come back-and-forth, ensuring and hoping that these issues would be fixed. I at this point I feel that I should contact an attorney because no one is. it is now August 6, and I have spoken with corporate office and the lady by the name of Heather. Pretty much she continues to just listen and nothing happens. They push it back on me asking. What do I want? I advised them I would like for all the issues to be fixed and also I would like the money I pay to move into this apartment back because it is still not in move-in condition. I just paid August rent and Still the issues weren’t fixed, but I signed the contract and I honored my contract. I have done everything according to what I agreed to do and they continue to do Little or nothing. Maintenance has come into my apartment and sadly attempted to put in baseboards in the kitchen and bathroom. I believe I have pictures of those on here the baseboards and the kitchen we’re not done properly. There is still a huge gap, and the baseboard appears as if they pull them from another apartment and place them in my kitchen the one in the bathroom, which I have a...
Read moreI'm deeply disappointed in the state of the buildings managed by legacy Anterra. My experience living in one of their properties was nothing short of a nightmare. The buildings are run down and outdated, desperately in need of repairs that seem to have been neglected for years. Living conditions were downright uninhabitable, with mold creeping into every corner, water leaks, and bugs. When I reached out for water pouring into our primary bedroom, no action was taken within 17 days of heavy rain to stop the continuous flow of water. We were forced to reach out to an attorney as the living conditions were no longer habitable and likely were not before, just painted over and hidden. Only after we escalated the situation by submitting a demand letter through an attorney did Darlene the main manager suddenly decide to take action and respond to our request claiming we had been on the schedule when we had walked into the office on 3 occasions asking for an update on the work that needed to be done. We met with Darlene requesting a mold test to be conducted so we could feel some sort of comfort continuing to live there, but we were met with outright refusal. It's shocking that a request as reasonable as this was dismissed without a second thought, especially considering the serious health risks posed by mold exposure. Darlene then suddenly allowed us to terminate our lease early. It's clear that their priorities lie more in avoiding accountability than ensuring the well-being of tenants I warn anyone considering renting from here to proceed with extreme caution. The disregard for basic maintenance and the dismissive attitude towards tenant concerns make it abundantly clear that they prioritize profits over the safety and comfort of those who call their properties home. My spouse and I both became physically sick from the living conditions and are still currently on medication for the symptoms, not to mention the damage to our personal belongings that the management did...
Read moreMe and 2 roommates all shared a 3 bedroom apartment together at this complex. We only went with this complex because Amanda, the old manager raved about it. But safe to say this was one of the worst apartments I've lived in. There were always issues. Right off the bat when moving in we noticed it was HOT. The AC would not work at all. We had maintenance over at least 4 times in the first 2 weeks and they basically said it won't get more than 10 degrees cooler than it is outside and that its an old building. Imagine sweating in 90°+ Texas weather and coming into your apartment and somehow its hotter?? Our apartment rarely made it below 80° in the hotter weather which is most of the year.
To make it worse the shared bathroom had no cold water in the summer. So if you thought a cold shower would help then you're wrong. I would just barely turn it on and it would get so hot, so now you're muggy and sweating even in the shower. Amazing. Maintenance said that once the ground heats, the pipes get hot, and its an old building. Front desk said to not turn it too far which I was not. The power in the whole wall in kitchen with the microwave wouldn't work so we had to buy our own. Maintenance said its just an old building. Dishwasher smelled like sewage and made the dishes smell bad. Maintenance said its just a old building.
Ceilings had bad water damage, pool was never opened, work orders took days, we had people pounding on our door at 2am which is terrifying for 3 college students. Us running our washing machine caused the downstairs neighbors to flood at one point. We made it 1 month before agreeing we would not renew the lease. Front desk also won't tell you about the 60 day notice you have to give and will just tell you to give 30 day notice in which you will still owe half of the last months rent. Luckily we decided to check it out and came just in time to give 60 day notice....
