MILKYTREATS ICE CREAM — Restaurant in Plano

I tried MILKYTREATS for the first time yesterday with my husband. We visited on a mid Sunday afternoon. The place was not busy at all. We were greeted right away, which I think nowadays is very rare. I was impressed already! The store was clean, and has a very Instagrammy vibe to it. The young man behind the counter explained the sizes, flavors, and options. He explained they offer scoops, cup or waffle cone, soft serve, milk shakes, or a sandwich- where the ice cream is in between glazed donuts. He gave us a sample to try. Again, very surprised and pleased since most young people don't talk or greet you at all. I wish we would have asked his name to let the manager know he was doing a great job. We decided to share a single scoop in a cup to try it out. We chose the U-bae flavor. It was a vibrant purple color. I was a little hesitant because of that. Usually if there is food coloring you can taste the coloring. Let me just say, we were very surprised about how good it was! Flavor was excellent, not too sweet, and it was so rich and milky- hence the name MILKYTREATS. Couldn't detect any food coloring flavor. It was really good. We devoured it in minutes. We were going to go back in and get another scoop, but decided to wait for another visit. You know how when you eat something so good, you feel guilty about eating it? It was like that. Phenomenal flavors!! We ordered a double scoop (U-bae and strawberry) salted caramel milk shake, waffle cone filled with chocolate swirl and took home a pint of U-bae. Being Filipina, it's hard to find a good ube ice cream but theirs is so good!! We spent around $34 and some change. To some that is a bit pricey but to me, the unusual flavors are worth it. My swirl was so smooth and creamy!! Been searching for the right texture and flavor and Milky Treats nailed it! The waffle cone was crispy, light, flavorful and tasted fresh!! The young lady taking orders was a hustler!! She pleasantly answered our questions even though the line was building up behind us.

Reasons for 3 stars... Well the service was slow. Only 2 people working the counter. We waited 20 min for our order. At around 15min, a 3rd guy shows up to help ease the long line. Came here for the soft serve. Online photos looked great with high swirls but mine was about a full swirl and a half tall. I think the guy mixing the shakes and swirls was a newbie to the crew. He seemed unsure of what he was doing. 4 The worst part was a blonde hair was mixed in my swirl which I discovered halfway in with my swirl as I had to remove it from my mouth...GROSS!! The color matched the guys hair that made my swirl. 😳🤮🤢😵

I love the originality of this ice cream shop. It's a much needed change to the traditional ice cream/yogurt shops around town. Worth trying this place out. 06/14/25 @ 9.25pm - Service was absolutely shocking and quite frankly disgusting. Three kids behind the desk serving, two guys and a girl, all three on their phones, the girl FaceTiming and flirting with two customers while totally ignoring other customers coming into the store. Some customers actually walked out while we were there because of how bad the service was. There was a total of 4 customers in the store so this should not of been an issue! I have never had worst service for the simplest job of serving ice cream. None of the staff give a single toss about their job and shows just how much respect they have for the company they work for. Wouldn’t be so bad if it didn’t take 15 to make the ice cream because they were busy looking up other colleges on their phone and showing customers their Facebook profiles. Plus a DoorDash delivery driver came in and was totally ignored and they said they didn’t have an order only to come out with two tubs of ice cream from the back and thrown into a bag and handed over. The worst experience of my life. Walked out with the poor excuse of an ice cream and threw it right in the trash and drove straight to Bazaria Ice Cream not even 5 minutes up the road and it’s night and day difference.
