The Mercantile — Local services in Plant City

My regrets for not stopping in sooner ..... I have traveled past this place that isn't very catching and not really exploited from the outside in a way that's inviting to people passing for the last 10 yrs maybe more. I stopped in the other day bc I was wasting time and had been asked to stop by a passenger....

I'm so sorry I never took time to ever stop in prior...It's such a nice place to visit if your into antiques or just nic nac kinda stuff... It's actually very large.

The way they have it set up is almost like themes in each room yes they have things that are inexpensive and also pricey but once you go through and back through another 2 times you will see stuff u didn't see prior since there is so much to look at.

With that being said it may be a down fall bc it's overwhelming and you just won't catch everything they have when scanning the room.. but once you slow down and read tags they do have allot of things that are really decent in price

The staff were so warming and did not hover or make me feel like I'm about to get tackled if I twitch wrong...lol They are Very helpful and nice but carry on a give you space.

I really can't say enough about this place. It's a Great little place that does not get credit for what it is due by not catching your eyes with interest enough to make you pull over.. :)

It's a shame of how profits could rise if it looked more inviting on the outside bc they have it mastered...

Mercantile is a great & AFFORDABLE antique store. Probably one of the best I have shopped at. Bigger than what it looks, many retro and antique items. They also have raffles (I think every weekend but not sure). Lots of beautiful hand made/hand crafted furniture and trinkets. Staff is super nice. Although it's a 2 story building- the store itself is the bottom floor only. All near antique Downton area, it an easy walk to from Mercantile(see pics of the downtown area) Nice quaint place to eat and spend...

Loved it, I could find many things I liked and wanted to purchase. Lots of pretty and nostalgic things. Not overly packed with items, like the other stores nearby. Very easy to find what you love. Organized and elegant. Much more inviting. I spent about an hour just enjoying the store. The gentleman at the desk (from my area in Pinellas county) was very helpful in suggesting a place for lunch, nice to speak to, friendly. We enjoyed our visit. Plan to come...
