Probably the nicest facility that I’ve been to across the country. A real gem for watching trains. It has viewing platforms along both perpendicular lines along with a mezzanine level for a higher perspective. Is completely ADA accessible including the upper level via a lift.
The only reason for removing a pair of stars is the amount of traffic. I have been in Tampa for 2 weeks and visited this spot on my first day and came back a half dozen times during my visit and only saw 2 freight trains in conjunction with the daily Amtrak service.
Not sure what is going one with the traffic on this line. But Plant City is a neat little town and worth a visit on its own. One Friday they closed the road that leads to the platform and had some sort of event. So if you are married this is a good...

Instead, these kids were screaming at us asking when the next train was coming and other stuff we really just didn’t care about. I really wanted to chat with my friend (and hopefully see a train) I asked one kid politely to please leave us alone, and a woman (his mom?) began berating us about how rude we were and she accused us of telling her son to be quiet (?) when we said no such thing. We left.
That wasn’t the end of it. We decided to give it another try a few months later. When we arrived, there was a group of crazy, very rowdy teens cussing loudly, yelling, and banging stuff against the railings. They even threw stuff at a security camera… We left I’m disgust, and never saw a train both times....
