My purchasing experience at the Pleasanton location was great, Lanesha was very personable and willing to assist. I purchased a really nice business suit for a sales conference that I’ll be attending in Florida next month.

However, I decided to return the suit since it did not fit and I was assisted by Tammi. Upon entering the store she greeted me and I explained I had a return which is when we walked over to the register. I placed the bag on the counter where she removed the jacket & pants from the bag, she began inspecting the items, brushing off the clothes as if they were dirty/dusty, while verifying the tags. Then she commented, “hmm this is odd this isn’t our tags, and I asked what do mean then she said it’s our tags but it’s not how we put our tags on our clothes.” I respond by asking what are you implying because when I purchased the items that’s how the tags were and then she proceeded to say “we can de-escalate this, what’s the phone number used to purchase the items?”

I really felt Tammi was making accusations as she clearly demonstrated a form of racism towards me which was totally unwarranted. I felt like she tried to humiliate me by insinuating I did not make the purchase even though I had my receipt and the phone number tied to the purchase. First time ever having an...
