The only reason I am even giving one star is because the workers are nice. Let me first say that my boyfriend was a mechanic for 8 years, and my mom's boyfriend works on cars as well. I had them both look at my car before I took it to Flynn's just to make sure it would pass. The only thing it needed at the time was brakes, which I had gotten taken care of before taking it for inspection. So, I go to Flynn's. They failed my car for apparently having thousands of dollars of repairs needed. Tie rods, exhaust, the list goes on. They also got black hand prints all over my doors, did not put my hubcaps on correctly (which resulted in one falling off as soon as I left the parking lot), but all of that was the least of my problems. They took apart my brakes that were not even a week old. They took apart my brand new caliper and did not tighten any of the bolts! When I took it to the next place, one bolt was missing and one wasn't even screwed in. My car started shaking really bad and squealing. I went to a small shop to get a second opinion. Gave them the run down of everything that Flynn failed, and this time my car passed. They said the only thing that didn't pass was a burnt out license plate light that Flynn didn't even notice, and they replaced it for me. The leak that Flynn's caught in my exhaust (they wanted me to get an ENTIRELY new exhaust), this shop said they can very easily repair it, that I did not need a new exhaust. He even explained how he would do it and it was way cheaper than buying a whole new exhaust. They walked me through everything and showed me that what "failed" at Flynn's, there was actually nothing wrong with. They could not believe that Flynn wanted me to get all these pointless repairs done to my car. Needless to say, my car passed this time, and they had to fix the mistakes that Flynn's made the first time. I used to like coming here and never had a bad experience until this happened. Never again!!!
I will add, the tire service isn't horrible. I've came here for tires in the past and did not have issues. But after trusting them to inspect my car, I will...
Read moreMy wife made an appointment to get our car inspected.$85. I received a call saying my car needed work. I asked what did it need. Bob the sales manager; proceeded to tell me a list of items my car needed to pass inspection. The list took me up to $1000. Sales right. So he proceeds to tell me the list and I ask what does my car need to pass inspection after all that’s what it was there for. My price to have my car pass inspection dropped to $600. That was just for a break change, new wipers, and an inspection. His recommendations were 5-6 more things, two new tires when they were passing, an alignment, change of brake fluid, rotors both front and back. I had new rotors put on 1 year ago, so i knew they were fine. I was then questioned why i don’t I do the recommendations, I just said I wanted to do what was currently needed and I could do the additional things later myself, I just need the estimate to make sure it’s affordable. This must of hurt bobs ego, as he then goes well if you can do it all your self then I’ll just fail the inspection, you can do the work and bring it back and I’ll charge you again for the next inspection. Not that this is how it works, he was just making empty threats so I got the work done. I told him that’s not what I was saying as I needed it done. I remained calm and never acted like he was being rude even though he had terrible customer service skills. Insult to injury, when I picked the car up he asks me in a sarcastic tone if i was planning on selling the car. Mean while the car is a 2016, 62,000 miles and we’ll taken care of. See I wasn’t trying to have an issue, but bob was trying to create one. One, how did he know what I could afford even tho I paid him in cash. Two he didn’t know my expertise nor experience. The empty threat was funny. And he must not realize there are many other places who do inspections. Just hope he doesn’t talk down to all of Flynn’s customers like that, because today they lost one because of bobs ignorance. PS I have 4 cars that I would have taken them all...
Read moreI’m using this “Feed Back” form both to give feed back and also to document the incident in case there are any long-term engine issues.
I’ve been coming to Flynn’s EW Tire for over 30 years, and I have been very satisfied with the service. Yesterday I had a routine Oil Change performed and this morning my vehicle had five indicators that something was wrong: The Check Engine light came on. The vehicle had a “tapping” sound at idle. The vehicle was making an intermittent Servo or Pumping sound, (which cycled “on and off”). When I checked the oil level, it was below the dip stick. It wasn’t until later that I also notice that there was an oil puddle where the car normally sits in the garage.
I drove the vehicle back to Flynn’s at 1921 Golden Mile Hwy, Plum, PA 15239. The manager agreed that the oil level did not show on the dip stick. He was very good at getting the vehicle put back on the rack to investigate. From the best of my knowledge, it is believed that the Oil Filter Gasket may have twisted or failed after being installed since the filter housing and the plastic skid pan under the car had oil all over them. The shop drained the existing oil, removed and replaced the leaking oil filter and refilled the engine with 5 quarts of new oil.
I am not mad, but this could have been a very serious situation if I had gone out of town on a long trip and the engine had run dry of oil, resulting in engine damage. - Regards,...
