Prior to last March I usually took the Senior Citizens Bus while renting in City of Plymouth Senior Citizens Apartments, Tonquish Manor Apartments. I had many bad experiences at Tonquish Creek, especially with no car, and some minor bad experiences on the Senior busses as they only had two at that time and they needed to be used more often. The two driver's, at that time, were always nice & helpful. This Kroger is in the process of still being remodeled for second time to best of my knowledge and has been at this location for many year's. Of course smaller and larger Kroger store's are located in many of the nearby suburbs and currently has the most number of grocery store's in MI, to best of my knowledge. When renting in the city of Plymouth and finding it necessary to have prescription's delivered and more often, I believe picked up by me, at this location, I encountered some bad experiences with some of their employees and changed my pharmacy to Wiltse's in the city as it was within walking distance and found the employees far more helpful and delivered, too. In the last over two years I have been able to mostly walk and sometimes drive to this location I have not been able to lift a bag weighing very much because of surgery on right shoulder and recently back. I have encountered some of what I considered unhappy employees when it is crowded and preferred to bag my items my self instead of using the self scanners. I don't blame them as some have recently remarked "it doesn't matter to me, because I get paid by the hour". I told the last one, "it matters to me and I don't get paid by the hour anymore and have...
Read moreDear Floral Department at the Ann Arbor Rd Plymouth Kroger,
As a long-time plant collector and tropical plant enthusiast, I’ve avoided your houseplant section for years—not because I don’t love plants, but because it’s heartbreaking to see how consistently they’re mistreated.
For over two years, nearly every visit reveals the same issue: your plants—especially the hanging baskets and other tropicals—are severely overwatered. The soil is often soaked to where I’d sooner call it mud than dirt. This isn’t just bad practice—it’s a death sentence to these plants.
I’ve personally purchased two plants from this location. The first had root rot, which I expected based on its soggy state. But the manjula pothos I brought home today reached a new low— stem rot. The stems sitting on top of the soil were mushy, brown, and decaying. This only happens when water sits on top of the soil for extended periods. That’s not just overwatering. That’s flooding.
Tropical plants typically require watering once a week at most, and only when the soil is dry. Whatever your current watering schedule is—it’s too much. Please reconsider your care routines. These are living things, and it’s clear something needs to change.
If this location updates its watering practices, I’d be happy to update or remove this review. Until then, I’ll be watching closely.
Please do better—for the plants, and for the plant lovers who want to give them a chance...
Read moreI do not usually shop at this location, however, my parents do and I was with my mom today. I shop at my neighborhood Kroger faithfully 1-2 times weekly. Half of the items on my list were out of stock at this location. The Kroger associates I encountered were rude and very unpleasant. I have never walked out of an establishment leaving everything behind because of how disrespected I felt as a customer. The self checkout Kroger associate, Amy, removed items from my hand as if I were a child. She then informed me that she would have to reset the belt because it was frozen, and then pressed a button before leaving myself and the customer behind me to go back to the other self checkout registers, never telling us that we would need to join a different line. After the other customer and I were conversing about if she planned on coming back, she shouted from the other self checkout “you’ll need to join another line”…. minutes after we were still standing there thinking she was coming back to fix the register. I will NEVER spend my money at this Kroger. I hope Scott, the Kroger leader actually addresses the concerns I shared with him about the two not so pleasant associates, Amy and Unknown male, I spoke to him about because I hope no one ever has this same experience. Grocery shopping can be chaotic but for some it’s therapeutic, guess I will have to find a different form of therapy this Sunday to relieve me of...
