The city, town or wanna be village of Pocatello is fairly modern.Unless we talk about internet speeds and few other things, that are more or less common everywhere else. So when it comes to the older part of it the word I am looking for is not as much antique as it is dilapidated. If outdated neon signs belong anywhere it should probably be some sort of a junkyard or a bar. By all means there are car shows, authentique restauraunts, bars,PVB,brewfests and artwalks.I just suggest, that you keep an eye on your property and do not bring younger children. After dark a lot of cars are driven erratically as if they had been stolen.Might be the case that's where most assaults and car thefts happen.Couple got shot by a stranger last summer, old lady got murdered.Odd people use buildings to stop their vehicles. Somehow Pocatello manages to combine a lot of the downsides of a small town with a large number of the drawbacks of a big city in its own unique way.Great number of local residents seek and find refuge from reality in their never ending religious activities and prefer not to notice issues on the other side of town such as poverty, homelessness, drug abuse, crimes against persons and property.Righteous people prefer not to acknowledge the existence of the not so pretty heathen ridden side of Poky locals refer to as Methatello. Not sure why,but exactly same problems are still here even a decade later.Overly spiritual locals protested homeless shelter.I suppose in the corrected version of their Bible Jesus had a mortgage or 2.Leaders are refusing to eradicate the cause of the evil and prefer to treat the symptoms instead.Sheriff pleads for bigger prison even though the current one is already humongous for such a small friendly community. It is like trying to get out of debt by raising credit limits. Now whether Pocatello is(was or ever will be) beautiful is highly debatable. Most businesses are favorable enough. Some are much slower than the average and do not pay any attention to...
