This is a beautiful restaurant, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The staff was attentive, and not to the point of bothersome. The food was fresh, and pleasing in temperature. As you can see my review is rather clinical to read so far, and That is because the food wasn't exciting.
My girlfriend had Thai drunken noodles, and they were good.
I had phó and the flavor was not what you will expect from phó. I know, it's a Thai joint, not vietnamese, but while phó is a complex flavored dish, it isn't rocket science to make an average decent bowl.
The traditional accompaniments (i.e. Basil, lime, peppers, etc) were already in the bowl when served. Removing half of the phó experience of adding and adjusting to your personal taste.
Further the ingredients were far from traditional varieties. The basil was Genovese (Italian) rather than Thai, much too strong and sharp on flavor. In fact the broth tasted only of Italian basil broth rather than the complex layers of spices one would expect from Thailand.
Everyone expects the meatballs to be of the frozen variety, but these seemed to taste of a smokey Italian meatball. I wanted to attribute the Italian flavor to the basil broth, but I really feel they were Italian meatballs from Costco.
The tendons were hard and could not be chewed, and the other beef was not tender or flavourful.
All in all? Stick to the Thai menu. I'm sure they do...
Read moreI will never walk into this restaurant again. Horrible experience!!! Today we were meeting a group of people at the restaurant. 5 adults and 2 kids. I was the first to arrive with my two little boys 8 and 5 years old. As we walked into a completely empty restaurant and stood at the front door to be seated I saw a women who I believe to be the owner on the other side of the counter. My boys stood quietly by me. I noticed her glaring at myself and my kids. She didn’t greet us, say hello or offer to seat us. At that point I said hello and asked her if we could be seated. She rudely asked me if I read the sign… Not knowing what she was talking about I walked up to the sign and began to read a letter that began with Dear Parents……. the sign went on about childrens behavior and how they were pretty much not welcome in her restaurant. She then with her rude mannerism’s threw 3 menus down on the table. At this point I told her that I was not interested in spending my hard earned money in a restaurant where you are mistreated for bringing in children. I mean come on this isn’t a five star restaurant!!!!!! I’ve never been treated so poorly……. The place was completely empty and now I can see why. I will never walk through those doors again and I will also be spreading the word about my experience tonight to everyone I know. Word travels in a...
