Wow we went to a great place in old town Pocatello. Now the young lady that waited on us was name Jessica and she made us feel right at home. Please be warned to bring your appetite because the food is outstanding. Now before I get ahead of myself let me tell you this is a really nice location and the decor is outstanding and true to the railroad heritage of Pocatello. It was very clean and we went after the lunch rush. So we pretty much have had the place to ourself so we could be snooping without disturbing anyone lol. The bathrooms were clean change station in the women bathroom. Shar checked it out for me. The behind the counter was very clean as well. 2 entrances for those that want to not park on the street. They have a grand selection of beers. They also can and fill growlers. So you can grab and go. Ok so back to the food. Looking at the menu there was so many great things to pick from so we decided to try a little bit of stuff. We decided Garlic Knots and we was wondering why it was on the Entrée side well to our surprise it was a meal all of itself. You will see from the pics it would be a good shareable. Sharlena had the Battleship Barbecue burger and it looked yummy and she added Sautéed Mushrooms and I had the Freight Train Fried chicken sandwich. So everything came at once and man I had a hard time figuring out where to start so we started with the knots that was almost a mistake because it was so warm, yummy and gooey, had a hard time pushing that aside. The burger Shar had was amazing the ingredients were all sautéed, jalapeños, green pepper, red onions, so zesty and yummy. Yes I had a bite. Now my chicken sandwich was fried to perfection crunchy and moist can’t wait for later to have the rest of it lol. You can have fries or a salad, you can’t go wrong with either choice the fries are fresh and yummy. The salad was vibrant and lots of dressing options. Overall the place was awesome. I just had surgery and I couldn’t really try the beer but Shar had the Brown and said was great. So I’ll have to go again ands sample the brewery part lol. Overall it’s a wonderful spot better go before it’s on Diner, Drive Inn and dives cause the prices are reasonable. There is music on the weekend and we will check that out on a later date. Stay tuned.

We went for Sunday brunch and it was the first time there and loved the atmosphere when we first walked in. Really wanted to like it. My first issue was when I spent $12 on eggs benedict and it only comes with the eggs, no sides. So I paid for a side of breakfast potatoes and bacon. The breakfast potatoes looked like overcooked fries cut up. The english muffins were very dry and hardly any hollandaise sauce for flavoring. My son got the stuffed pancakes for $10. Very small with two pancakes and a small portion of syrup. The syrup was very liquidy and I thought maybe it was just because it was warmed up. I tried it and it was room temp and just watered down. I could've probably gotten past that and gave it another shot but I felt conned by the end of it. We also ordered bottomless mimosas, which we were offered a variety of flavors. I got guava and pineapple and raspberry. They were ok but I was definitely shocked when we got the bill and it was an extra $3 per drink for the flavor IN ADDITION to the price of $10 for the bottomless mimosa price. All in all we spent $100 and didnt even buy my toddler a meal and rather shared our small portions with him. Other people in our group ordered The Mess Around and that looked like a way better deal for the money. I'm angry that no where on the menu does it advertise that flavors cost extra and the waitress didn't mention it either. Had I known, I would've just gotten whatever is included in the $10 price. For sub par food and small portion sizes this is WAY overpriced. I've had much better food and mimosas at Abras or Jeris Jumbos and way more for your money. Save yourself $100 bucks and go where the food and portions are great!

Off the Rails was a cute fun location headed home from Craters of the Moon. Kid friendly. The location was near the Railroad tracks, I loved the metal chairs and signs. And overall the cool atmosphere. I got the Snoozer smoked gouda and tomato jelly burger. It was good, but there was more jelly than gouda, but I LOVE gouda so don’t base your not eating here on my love of cheese. It was a lot of food and I could not finish. The fries was delicious. My 13 yr old got the Coupler Kids Pizza she enjoyed it. My spouse got the Freight Train Fried Chicken Sandwich and fries. He moderately liked it. He said it was ok. I had a bite and felt the same. My 16 yr old got the Railroad Burger and he said it was good but not his favorite, and devoured the fries. He also ate mine. The spouse and I got adult beverages, he got the Bloody Mary and said it could have been better. I got the cranberry vodka and I LOVE the white cranberry. However the vodka to juice ratio was off. It appeared to be about 1 shot vodka to a tall 12 ounce glass of juice and Bloody Mary mix. They do have options to take beer home however it was $15.99+ for a 4 pack depending on what we chose. We did not buy any. They had a canned hard lemonade version to take home at $6.99 a can as it was a “in house drink”, I was told I could buy at another location but again would be maybe around $4.99 a can as well. We did not purchase that either. Overall cute atmosphere great food but the drinks and prices could be worked on. Our server was super sweet and friendly. Bathrooms were clean.

Don't be fooled by the 5 star reviews....Read on!!! We stopped for lunch/brunch on a Sunday noonish. Four adults, one toddler. Restaurant less than half capacity. Waitress took our orders in a pretty timely manner.

We chose this place from the good looking photos and top few reviews. Wish we'd have looked further.

After placing our orders, two burgers, a side waffle, and two orders of French Toast we waited. Nothing was ordered for the toddler. She eats like a bird and her parents share their meals with her. They brought in her juice. The only thing the staff did for the child was bring her a cup of water.

And we WAITED!!! After an HOUR, one of us went to inquire about what was happening with our order. I was told they recieved an apology and that the bill would be discounted. We were satisfied with that

Finally the side waffle arrived, nothing else. Now over an hour! We're told the rest would be out shortly....ok? At least 5-10 mins later the rest comes out.

The food was good, not great! French Toast was dry, thank goodness for the syrup & cream cheese! Breakfast fries ok, pretty sure they and French fries from frozen. I don't know what one party thought of their burger, but the other said their's was very dry, and though supposed to be a barbeque burger no sign of bbq sauce til over half way through! This person had also asked for extra pickles when ordering their burger. It came with three maybe four pickles. When they asked the man who delivered our food for extra pickles he was rude regarding the request and in the delivery of said pickles. Believe this gentleman to be owner/manager.Still, overall the food was pretty good, definitely not great.

We were supposed to recieve a discount for our inconvenience. The final straw....First let me say that none of us saw anything about a mandatory gratuity of 20% for parties of 5 or more!!!! WHAT?!?! I have see this for parties of usually 8 or larger, sometimes even 6....but 5? And since when does a toddler that you did nothing more than bring a cup of water to count as a 5th person!?!? So guess how much of a discount was applied to our bill? You guessed it! 20%! Which they immediately reapplied as gratuity!!! Outrageous in all of our opinions!!! So we recieved nothing for our inconvenience whatsoever. It's obvious by our experience and many others, these folks just don't care.

Off The Rails is indeed off the rails.... if they want to be su cessful they need to learn how to run their kitchen efficiently, provide quality good tasting food, and learn what it is to provide excellent customer service. That's what keeps your customers coming back. None of us will be...

I’ll start off by saying that our whole experience wasn’t terrible. The food and our server (cute lady with dreadlocks) were great! However, our visit was definitely soured by bad attitude from an employee.

We came in from Salt Lake to meet up with my In-Laws (from AZ) who are looking to buy a home in Idaho. We’d never been to Pocatello before and found Off The Rails because we were looking for somewhere to meet up for dinner that was 1) dog friendly, 2) kid friendly, and 3) had good food and beer. This place met all 3 “on paper”. We even called ahead to confirm the first two.

At one point during our visit, I asked a male server with long hair in a bun if they had a bowl of water our pups could have. He said yes, but they were a little busy, so after a while I figured he’d forgot and I’d just ask someone else. No big deal.

A while later some of our main entrees got brought to our table by a lady in a pink T-shirt. She asked if we needed anything else, so I took the opportunity to ask for a bowl of water for our dogs again. I let her know I’d asked the other gentlemen, but he might’ve forgotten and it wasn’t a problem if that was the case. Her response was “we’re pretty busy, and we take care of our human guests first. If you really need it that bad, there’s a water station outside with plastic cups.” Being as it was our first time there, I didn’t even know they had a patio let alone a water station. Our whole table was floored by her response.

Our server (who was pretty busy) came by to check on us and she actually took the time to ask another employee if they had a sec to grab our pups water. He was super awesome and brought them over a huge bowl of ice water which they started drinking immediately.

I’ve been a bartender and server at bars that are dog friendly. The furry, four legged guests matter just as much as the human guests. Their humans typically pick establishment because of how their canine companions are treated there. If you advertise as dog friendly, be dog FRIENDLY.

I give our server 5 stars, the food 4 stars, but that 0 star attitude totally brought the overall...
