We bought a piece from the floor room about 6 years ago and just love it! After we updated our kitchen this fall, we returned to FK to see if there was an island type piece that would complement what we already have. There wasn’t anything so we were told we could commission a custom piece. We decided to do that, and sketched what we wanted and also walked around the store looking at different cabinets, pulls, chairs, etc. We were told it would take 5-6 weeks. At 7 weeks, I started calling for updates. It was finally delivered (still wet) and it was not at all what we were hoping for. We asked for lightly distressed (as is our other piece) and this piece was not. The wood is very rough; splintered in areas; the drawers would not open because it was still wet and one cabinet door did not close all the way. The builder told us it was his first time making a piece. He did come back and tried to fix the door but finally said, he’d done all he could. The wood on both cabinet doors is splintering apart. He told my husband that was the distressed look. He also told us that the chairs came from Amazon. ($82 each) and we were charged $199.99 each. I reached out and received some prompt text replies but I also asked for the owner to call and that never happened. I asked if they would take it back at a lower price than we paid but were told no. Read moreTerrible customer service and incredibly dishonest!! I called yesterday to have them hold an item for me until today since I was having surgery yesterday. They told me they would hold it for me and not to worry I could pick it up today. I called about an hour after they opened to let them know I was running late but I was on my way to pick up the item. They ended up selling it to another customer before I had a chance to even get there after they assured me they would hold it!! Pretty horrible to do to someone who had surgery yesterday and couldn't make it in!! I also told them I would give my cc # in good faith and that I would definitely come today!! She said not to worry it would be fine since the item wasnt even on the sales floor yet. They had my name, phone #, fb contact info, etc. If it was an issue of me not getting there right away when they opened they should have let me know that!! What's worse is when I called they were very rude and instead taking accountability or attempting to make the situation right for what would have been an excellent customer, they blamed me and were completely rude not to mention disrespectful. You just don't do that to people unless you're only about the bottom line. Obviously they don't care about customers, having any sort of integrity, or having good customer service. In response to the owner's denial: it doesn't take a doctorate in behavioral science for a person to know they're being mocked. Fortunately my partner has a PhD in behavioral science. Nothing about our dress sense or appearance was unusual. Two members of staff looked at us, masked up, looked at each other and began to laugh. At that juncture we were never going to buy from your business. However, we entered and discreetly watched the reaction of your staff to people not wearing masks - no mockery.
