I called in my order expecting to get a dinner portion, but was shocked to receive this. It was $27 for these two VERY small portions. I called back to confirm my order with them, saying that “I’m pretty sure I paid for dinner portions but got a lunch portion.” The young lady who answered said that I got the “lunch” portion of green chicken for $11. 95 and shrimp massaman for $13.95. It’s clearly not worth it, and I will never be ordering from them again, it is a rip off. Anyone reading this needs to go to Sawaddee Ka Thai Cuisine & Pho at 111 Canal Street where they have literally DOUBLE the amount of food for a much more reasonable price, and if that didn’t help you make a better choice today than consider the fact that their food genuinely taste better. The only reason we ended up ordering from Papaya was the fact that Sawaddee Ka’s phones were too busy at the time and I really wanted curry. My fault for not waiting for good food and this is what I get, never again. Papaya’s saving grace would definitely be the young lady who answered my call, she was nice and accommodating, so that’s why I’m not bringing back the food for a refund and why this review isn’t a one star. I hope you can better Papaya and maybe one day you’ll get happy clients again. Also why is the chicken green? This is the first time I’ve experienced a restaurant that dyes their protein…

I am a local lived in the area for 44 years. Eaten at lots of sushi restaurant all over the country. I heard this new restaurant that open in Pooler. So tonight on way home from work decide to stop in for dinner with my wife. I order just some basic sushi - spicy tuna and grouper roll. The rolls came out and it look ok. When I went to pickup the rolls they fell apart before it reach my soy sauce dish. The sushi rice was low grade rice and the rolls were not rolled tight! I tried looking for the grouper in the roll and basically it was more coating then fish. We sat at the bar and sushi chef area was shared with the drink and order station. The rice pot was sitting on a barstool and next to the trash can. My wife ordered the fried spring roll and it came out so greasy. They need to separate sushi bar from the drink and order station before there cross contamination of the raw fish. I know it's new place but if you running a sushi bar they need to be extremely care with handling raw fish. We probably won't go back for sushi until these concerns are address.

Ordered a few different types of sushi to try and my husband got the Thai Fried Rice with pork. First of all, the fried rice with pork was great. It was very flavorful and cooked right. The sushi was good. The crunch roll was the best. The spicy tuna had the most spice punch out of any I've ever tried. The flavor was definitely there. For the sushi it definitely needs to be rolled tighter. The 2 we had most of the pieces fell apart when I tried picking them up with chopsticks. However, I absolutely love the price of the sushi rolls for lunch. Much cheaper than most other places. No more $5 Sushi at Publix on Wednesdays for me! As far as the setup, the space is limited so it feels a little like you are sitting at the table with those at the next table over. Hard to carry a private conversation with your party. Overall, I would still definitely recommend. And I will be back to try more dishes soon.

Wish I could give zero stars. John has horrible customer service, I cannot believe he’s a manger. Was double charged on Saturday June 12th because of a simple misunderstanding with spring rolls on a Togo order. I ordered 2 spring rolls, not two sets of spring rolls. Let me mention, me and my friend did a take out order and this was our first time here. Because of the misunderstanding with the spring rolls, everything had to be re-rung up and charged. Later we called on Thursday June 17th letting them know the refunds didn’t come. Unfortunately John picked up the phone, and was yet again having an attitude and said that the refund should be back by Saturday. So i was patient and waited until Saturday came. This is, June 19th. I waited until 7pm to call to see if the refund would come since it’s been a whole week and my card was still double charged. John picked up AGAIN and was arguing, yet again over the phone, that it was my banks fault and not the restaurants. Keep in mind, me and my friend both were charged twice. So how can it be both of our banks, when we have different banks? So I asked to speak with the owner of the restaurant, who he said “wouldn’t be there until Sunday”. I asked if he could leave my number for the restaurant owner he said “she’s too busy”. Then hung up after saying “whatever”. I’m sure every restaurant owner is busy, but they should MAKE time to right their wrongs. I called back again, this time he was really getting an attitude, he heard my friend in the back say “call the BBB because they clearly don’t want to help you. ” John didn’t like that and said “tell your friend in the back to stop talk talking s____ (cuss word), because we don’t have to help you with anything”. This was when the line was DEFINITELY crossed. John was rude from the beginning but this was extremely disrespectful. Horrible customer service, I can’t believe this guy is a manger. All I wanted was my money back, since I was double charged. I will NEVER...

I had a huge craving for Thai food, and my Pad Thai was on point! But we also got the sizzling duck, we just didn’t know there was a sauce choice, so when we hesitated to decide, our server (who I think was in training) offered the sauce on the side for us. We agreed confusedly, even though there was no need for it, we were just surprised we had a choice between two styles and maybe took to long to answer? I don’t know for sure.

A bit later, a manager came out and let us know the chef wanted us to be aware if the sauce is on the side that the duck wouldn’t be “sizzling”. We both immediately said “oh that’s totally fine!” considering we didn’t really come up with the idea for it to be on the side in the first place. She looked concerned and asked us if we were sure. We said “absolutely”.

The food came out and like I mentioned earlier, the Pad Thai was on POINT, and a great portion size too! Absolutely fantastic. Oh, the Avocado Rolls were amazing as well, we had them as an appetizer. Highly recommend them.

Unfortunately, the duck came out with the sauce on the side. We kicked ourselves for confusedly agreeing at first with the server in training who suggested it. We didn’t mention that the duck was over cooked because we felt it to be partially our faults, even though we assured the manager that the duck could certainly be cooked within the sauce and we’d be perfectly happy for it. Instead of causing a problem we enjoyed our meals - mine being perfect - and took our leave.

Keep in mind if you go, hospitality is suffering right now due to understaffing. So I don’t want to be too hard on this place especially since they seemed to try and get it right for us but missed the mark a little bit.

Aside from the strange miscommunications and overcooked duck, it had a lovely atmosphere, seemingly full bar, & was a fantastic experience and would highly recommend it for anyone who is...

Visited 10/14/23 for a birthday dinner. Made reservations for a party of 10 ahead of time, called and confirmed before arrival. When we arrived they seemed clueless as to the reservation after not greeting members the party for about 10 minutes. They also failed to arrange appropriate seating together for the party. Once we were finally seated the server asked us the customers if they should have 2 servers or 1…weird question. Then she preceded to ask who all would be on what checks as she needed to know before we ordered anything even water. We later heard her tell another party it was only her and one other server working so it further wouldn’t make sense to have two servers on 1 party. Once we were able to give drink orders I asked for one of my favorites a Thai tea to be told they were out. About 15 minutes later a party seated after we were by the other server has a Thai tea brought to their table. I asked that server did they have Thai tea she said yes and brought one over. Our food took a while but understandable with a large party. Once it arrived we were missing items. The server mentioned the missing items but didn’t return to check in. So I approached her at the bar asking for the missing items. When the checks were distributed we were disappointed to see that despite her early request to know how to divide the checks they were still wrong. We also noticed her checking her watch each time a party came in after 8:30, they closed at 9:30. I will say the food was good everyone enjoyed what they had but the service was subpar. It’s probably worth taking the drive to Richmond Hill, same food, but with better and more competent staff...
