I just had the WORST customer service at Mc Phee's (over the phone) and I am standing here in awe that this even happened. Every time I have ever gone in, the owner Frank is always so kind and funny, cracking jokes and being nice. I have called to price check before and he has always helped me. Jimmy works at the Mill in Port Angeles. Today was payday (for me) and my check came in the mail. We live in Carlsborg. I called everywhere hoping to find a sushi roller in Sequim with no luck. So because Jimmy used his last cash for lunch today, I called my dad to see if he would cover the cost of a sushi roller at Mc Phee's so we didn't have to waste gas, and a whole lot of time, by running all the way back to PA, especially since a headlight is out and it'd get dark soon. Jimmy works at 5am and isn't going to get home until 630 as it is. So I called My Phee's and a nice young gentleman answered and I asked him my question about price checking 2 items and he said "Let me hand you over to someone who deals with this kind of stuff" so he did. And this monotoned man answers and already sounds annoyed. I ask in my perky, high pitched and happy toned voice, "Hey! I am calling to check the prices of 2 items plea...!" And interupts me and says "We don't price check here. Sorry" and I kind of pause and I start to say, "Oh okay, well may you make an exception for us please? I am borrowing money from my father to get these items so we don't have to run back and forth from Sequim to PA and I was..." And he interupts me again and says, "Doesn't matter, I won't do that for you. I am not going to run up and down the isles trying to find something when you can just come in and get what you need yourself!" I almost couldn't believe my ears.. just because of how rude he was saying this and I said "it's 2 small items in the same spot, you can't just check for me?" And he got really annoyed and said "No! I will not do that!" And I hung up because he was basically yelling. I kind of stood there shocked at what just happened.. I mustered up the energy to call back and let him know, nicely, that treating customers that way is a good way to lose business and that I will write a review unless I can speak to the owner, and I was going to say this kindly and be the bigger person and never got the chance too because I called twice and he picked up and hung up on me! I seriously couldn't believe this even happened. I was so nice! He must've been having a bad day or something. I called Country Aire and had AMAZING customer service and turns out they have everything we need. The lady was talking to me about my experience and said the owner, Frank, would not be happy to hear I was treated this way. So after I got off the phone with her I decided to *67 their number and call and ask for Frank. The guy answers and very nicely I say, "Hello! Can I please speak with Frank?" And he immediately hangs up on me! I am still in shock... I am all about supporting local businesses, but he will not be getting our business tonight. Or ever, unless I call and get to talk to an owner. If that was my store and 2 men did that to my customers they would be fired no excuses. I have never been hung up on, multiple times. I was so nice too! Thought I'd share, beware...
Read moreThe owner is horrible, rude, and paranoid. I waited in the car with the windows down while my son went into McPhee's to look for a certain soda. They did not have the soda so my son was returning to the car. As he passed Mr McPhee I heard and saw Mr McPhee tell the customer that my son had stolen something. I opened the door to my car and said "why are you saying my son stole something." Mr McPhee said " because he didnt make eye contact" I said "search his pockets! Search him! My son does not steal!" Mr McPhee refused. I said he should not make false accusations against people, and that my son does not make eye contact because he has autism. Mr McPhee said "then he should not come in here anymore." I know other people have had similar experiences in that store and they need to speak...
