Disappointed by the Hype – Honest Review I had high hopes after seeing the 4.9-star rating and ordered the vegetable biryani during my travels through Port Angeles. I even called ahead, but after being passed between three people, and while none could clearly describe what the biryani included, the final person did say, “malai kofta is also good, but yeah biryani is also great too.” I was initially curious about trying the kofta, but after seeing pictures of the naan in other reviews (which looked quite sad), I stuck with the biryani. The place runs out of a gas station, which I didn’t mind—especially with nearby spots like City Pier and 9/11 Memorial to eat at. But the food? That’s where the letdown hit. Just look at the picture. > The rice was almosy sticky—far from the fluffy, fragrant basmati you'd expect in a biryani. > They tossed in a few rings of deeply over-fried onions, the kind that tell you the oil hasn’t been changed in a while. > The veggies? Only carrots and potatoes. Zero greens. No peas, no cashews, no richness. > Spice level was supposed to be medium, but I got a night-long stomach ache, and even into the next morning, woke up to body temperature elevated, +0.5 F. This isn’t about being overly critical—I'm deeply familiar with good Indian food and had an amazing veg biryani just a few days earlier in Astoria, so this contrast was glaring. No hate to the effort, lovely people, high respect but if this is the only Indian option in town, I’d suggest ownership narrow the menu and make a few dishes truly live up to the name "Tasty Indian Food." Right now, it doesn’t.

Food quality was poor. Way over priced for a gas station food. It appears they pre cook food else where, and then microwave it at this location. Look at this mediocre nan. Be aware .

I cannot comment anything about the food as I never got my order. Such pathetic customer service, completely understaffed. I ordered food to pickup through uber eats. The restaurant accepted the order and I got notification from uber eats that the order is ready for pickup. Reaching there the restaurant owners tells me they never accepted the order and so it wasn’t made even after waiting for 2 hours. And uber eats already charged me. I even saw a lot of people waiting in line for more than an hour and there were a couple of families who placed order 2.5 hours ago and it still wasn’t ready. It was so chaotic, everyone was shouting at the restaurant staff and the staff was discussing with the owner whose order should they make first and whom to say no. I could literally hear them talk in Hindi and Punjabi. They should really accommodate customers and if not should not accept the orders. God knows how the taste was but just unbelievably pathetic customer service. Will never recommend anyone...

I've gone many times now and tried probably half the veg dishes. They are all great -- fresh, fast, well-spiced. The rice and bread are delicious, and you even get a fountain soda with your order! (I'm a sucker for a fountain soda.) The mater paneer and malai kofta are especially good. The samosas are a great snack and I love that you get not one but two chutneys with them.

One note: they are not kidding about the heat levels. I grew up eating spicy Mexican food and like my food fairly spicy, and I find a 2 (out of 5) to be plenty. I got a 3 one time and I was capsaicin-high halfway through. So, tread carefully unless you really know what you're doing!

I would love it if they would start...
