We were in Port Angeles for my birthday and spend our first night camping (9/23). That went horribly so we needed to get a hotel and this was the one we could afford.||||The good: Beds were clean, room is a decent size, everything worked, staff ‘seemed’ friendly enough, location is in a good spot.||||The bad: It was $221 for 2 nights, for a 1 bedroom w/ 2 adults. We checked out yesterday morning and my deposit is still MIA (they told me I’d get it back as soon as I checked out, I did not. Then they said today, and it hasn’t came back today.. so yeah). NO AIR CONDITIONING; just fans. They decided to tar the parking lots and had us move out car to the far side during our stay but made us pay full price.. The rooms are very outdated. Bring your own toilet paper if you don’t like using see-through toilet paper.||||Also, if you’re the owner and you’re reading this, I’ll be disputing the entire transaction if you do not supply me with a refund for our stay. We overpaid for and underwhelming stay, where we could literally smell the tar through our closed window, lied to, and taken advantage of financially because you were the only hotel with a room open for that first night and raised the price to an unreasonable amount for your MOTEL. You have 24 hours to give me a refund before I put the dispute...
Read moreAfter staying here for four nights, we were ultimately happy with the room and the service!
Upon arrival check-in was quick and easy, and the women in the office was very friendly and efficient. Kudos for excellent customer service!
Entering our room we noticed immediately it had a strong scent of smoke and the sheets looked less than clean. We returned to the office and the woman immediately offered us a different room. The next room still smelled a little funky, but was overall fine. We opened the windows and let it air out a bit, and it wasn't enough to bother us.
The room was very bare bones, but everything worked. The bathroom was simple, but clean and the shower had good pressure and was hot. The bed was comfy, and the TV worked fine, as did the fridge and microwave.
The motel itself is a bit rundown, with peeling paint, wobbly stairs rusted spots, but some might say that simply adds charm, and at the end of the day how it looks has little to do with how good of a stay you have. If you are expecting anything fancy, this is not it; however for the price this motel was everything we could have hoped for; affordable, a great base that is close to the shops and restaurants in town, and it was comfortable.
We would likely consider staying here again next time we're in...
