I am going to number my complaints, there are so many.
2)My Husband again was admitted to the hospital and was getting ready to be released when blood started shooting out of his IV line. Knowing that it would take for ever for them to respond to the nurse call I ran to the nurses station to get someone, I was in a panic and they just looked at me as I told them there was blood shooting from his IV (more to the story) when nurse arrived to his room she did go into action by putting pressure on the IV. There was a very large puddle of blood on the floor to which they just throw towels on before I could get a picture of the amount of blood that was puddled on the floor. I spoke to someone about this and it went on deaf ears. ( so much more to this story)
3)I was lifting something heavy at home when I went to the ground after feeling something pop in my back. I went to the er told them what had happened and waiting in the waiting room before being called back to a room by the entry of the er. The two nurses in the room asked what they could do at which time I said maybe an X-ray. Sat back down in the waiting area someone came to take me back to X-ray, a few minutes later the nurse that had be told her job came to me and with her tail tucked to help me to a room, my back was fractured. I was not there for pain meds, I had a broken back. (shame on all of you)
4)I felt very very ill and my drs office was closed for the weekend. I went to the er they took a urine sample as I sat in the waiting room said I had a urinary track infection sent me home with antibiotics, three days later was admitted with pneumonia. Never took a blood test or check my lungs.
What kind of confidence would you have in this hospital, it is so unfortunate this is all we have when you have a disable member of your family that does need emergency care at times. Please don't send your standard we care message, it is well documented this is a deplorable, uncaring and unprofessional environment.
THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO THIS STORY!!! WARNING!!!!
In response to the note below, I tried at one time to address the complaint number 2. The person I spoke to showed no concern and seemed to be bored with our conversation. As I read the reviews it seems that this an on going problem. We do have very good health insurance, we are not coming in off the street into your hospital to receive drugs. If we come to that Er it is for a medical reason. Once again, shame on all of you involved in any of my many complaints and I hope you have sleepless nights until your hearts are changed. We are human beings please...
Read moreI entered the ER after midnight on a Tuesday. Spent 20 minutes in front of the registration window with no contact even though I could see multiple people I. The next area on their phones and having coffee. I was experiencing extreme abdominal pain and vomiting uncontrollably. Once I was finally addressed, I was placed ina room and told âheâ would be right in with some meds and a nice warm blanket. 3 hours later âheâ comes in with meds. He draws the injections without wearing gloves and administered medication without telling me what or how much or why. Then roughly 20 minutes later another nurse comes in with him and questions what heâs done previously but again no explanation was given to me. Several more hours pass and Iâm take. To imaging for a CT. Again no real communication or information conveyed to me. Several more hours pass and its gift change. Iâm tired, in pain and aggravated by this time and several people come in and out having me repeat why Iâm there rather than resting the chart. BRAD was the rudest person Iâve ever encountered. He asks me if I drink and when I say no I donât. He looks me up and down and says , the way you are dressed, your screen saver and tattoos, you tong drink, really? Very judge mental and condescending. I felt like I was discriminated against from that point on by BRAD. He never returned to my room after saying heâd be bank in a few minutes with something for pain and nausea. After about an hour of waiting I began to vomit violently resulting in soiling myself. I pushed the call button for the nurse BRAD and was not answered. After 30 minutes of the call button chiming in the nurses station, I stepped into the hall way to seek help when BRAD stepped out of another room and upon me speaking one word he told me aggressively to âSHUT UP, GO BACK TO YOUR ROOM, YOU ARE NOT IMPORTANT â.At that point I became very distressed and said I wanted to leave having already been discriminated against and now facing hostility from BRAD. BRAD said âleave thenâ. I said take out my iv and I will and he said âDo it yourselfâ and went into a room not yo be seen again. Quickly another hospital employee told me I had a serious infection in my gall bladder and needed surgery asap as it was potentially life threatening. Now Iâm visited by BEADS supervisor who made excuse for him and acted as if I was being unreasonable to push the call button to ask to clean myself and get out of my own excrement. I was quickly shifted ftom ER to surgical and the treatment improved drastically. However while Iâm in surgery, my emergency contact received multiple phone calls asking about payment for ER services. This emergency room is poorly run. The staff is rude, inadequate and have no compassion for patients. I truly hope the whole facility falls yo malpractice. I will be making full...
Read moreSit right back and let me tell you a little story.
My wife and I were going to have dinner at Mccallister's a block and a half from the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. While ordering, she suddenly said that her vision had blacked out and she could not see. I sat her down on a bench and gave her a half of a cookie thinking maybe her blood sugar was low. She informed me that she wanted to just take it to go. I spoke with the girl behind the counter, and when I got back to my wife, she was completely white, and her lips were of the same shade. She then told me she wanted to go to the ER. I got the car, brought it to the front, then rushed back inside to get her. I asked if she could walk and she slurred her words as if drunk, telling me she could not. I began to pick her up and she went completely limp and unconscious. Another customer helped me carry her out to our car. We had placed her half in the car when she began to convulse, and I realized her lips had turned a deep purple. At this point she was unresponsive, and we couldnât find a pulse. An employee called 911 just as my wife finally came to. She was awake, only somewhat coherent, and was shaking uncontrollably. Instead of waiting for the ambulance, I made the executive decision to drive her the block and a half to The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. By the time I made the short trip to TMCSETX, my wifeâs whole left side had gone numb in addition to the previously mentioned symptoms. Upon arriving at the ED, I flung open my car door and ran to the entrance where I was met by a female security guard and two female nurses. I exclaimed that I needed a gurney or wheelchair so I could get my wife out of the car. I was promptly told that I could not bring her in because they were on âlockdown due to an incident.â I pointed at my car where my wife was flopping around like a fish while gasping for air and said that I too was having an incident. I was met with the same response that they were on lockdown due to an incident. They could let people out but not in. I asked what the incident was and said I would help with whatever it was if they would just take my wife. Once again, I received the âsir, we are on lockdown due to an incident.â At this point I was beside myself with frustration, worry, anger, fear, and helplessness. I yelled âwhat am I supposed to do?! Drive her to another hospital like that?!â âWe canât help youâ was the response I was given. I was forced to bring her on my own to another hospital where there was no inpatient care. My wife is still experiencing serious symptoms from this event as we are seeing specialists and waiting to...
