La Cantina Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Port Arthur

I've been here more than one time, but this time it was the worst. I ordered fajitas with all the extras. The meat was under cooked and chewy and this is what I got for my sides! I guess cheese is more expensive than I thought. I asked for more cheese and they wanted to know if I wanted a side of cheese. I said I want more cheese on this plate. He went to the manager and when he came back he said "I tried to put more but I couldn't."!!! I got back a little more than I started with. I ended up paying $2 for a side of cheese. I would have given it one star but I've eaten here two many times.

I had already posted this review when, lo and behold, they remade the plate, didn't charge for he cheese and gave me an employee discount!

We've gone here a few times before and the service was decent as well as the food. This time the food was decent but the service was awful. No one was friendly. It felt like we were a bother. We ate around 6:30. They close at 9:30. If we'd been closer to closing time I would have understood. We didn't have just 1 server that helped us. Each time was different but that was when they got drinks and then the food order and then dropping off the food. We weren't checked on the whole time. We had to flag down someone for a refill on drinks. I flagged down a manager but instead of coming himself, he sent someone who was actively cleaning a table. The whole staff was on their phones the whole time. It's not like the place was packed. Completely...

The food was good, hot and fast. I ordered the Enchilada plate. Comes with three enchiladas, I got one Beef, one Cheese and one chicken. Comes with Mexican rice and choice of side...I chose refried beans which were spot on. This plate will be ordered again on my next visit. The sweet tea was sweet like it is supposed to be. The chips and salsas were good but a little to hot for the kids. The service was good and fast. Although one of my servers did not seem to understand most of what I said to her...she needs some work on her English. Overall my visit was very good and I...
