The Port Royal Farmers' Market in Beaufort, South Carolina, is an absolute treasure and a must-visit for anyone in the area. Nestled under a canopy of moss-covered water oaks, this market provides a picturesque and serene setting for a Saturday morning outing.
One of my favorite things about this market is the variety and quality of vendors. From fresh fruits and vegetables to homemade breads, mushrooms, plants, and ready-to-eat food vendors, there is something for everyone. The atmosphere is vibrant, friendly, and community-focused, making it a delightful part of my Saturday morning routine. The market opens early, and I highly recommend arriving early as popular items tend to sell out quickly, sometimes even before 11:00 AM.
Parking is conveniently located around the church across the street, which is a significant advantage over other markets like the Bluffton market. The layout of the market is well thought out, with plenty of shade, making it comfortable to stroll through even on warmer days. The addition of a playground and skate park nearby makes it a great spot for families, offering entertainment for kids while parents shop.
The market features an impressive selection of fresh, organic produce, handmade breads, pastas, and other delightful products. Friendly vendors contribute to the welcoming atmosphere, and it's a fantastic way to support local small businesses. One standout vendor that everyone must visit is Hank’s Lowcountry. Their crab cakes, she-crab mac n cheese, and she-crab soup are nothing short of spectacular. These dishes are some of the best I've ever tasted, and I can't recommend them highly enough.
Live music adds to the charm, creating a lively and enjoyable ambiance. The market is relatively wheelchair-friendly with tables and benches available for seating. While some food vendors are slightly more expensive than usual, the quality and uniqueness of the offerings justify the price.
Overall, the Port Royal Farmers' Market is the best farmers market I've been to in a long time, and I've visited many across the country. The combination of a wide variety of fresh and homemade items, friendly vendors, and a beautiful setting makes it a standout experience. I highly, highly recommend this market to anyone looking to support their community, enjoy delicious food, and have a great time. This market has quickly become a favorite, and I look forward to...

Lots of shade and parking was not a problem. We got there early Most vendors not all but most were direct vendors from their farms. Lots of fresh veggies and fresh meats. Also good bakery items. They also have quiet a few vendors selling prepared food. Can't remember all the names but my husband got a brisket Sandwich which was the best he's ever had. Also got some She Crab soup and Gumbo. Got a steak and some fresh sausage patties. Lots of fresh veggies and a great cinnamon roll and scone. Once again everything we got was wonderful!! Wish we had a Farmers Market like this...
