I had an extremely disappointing experience at JCPenney in the Crossroads Mall in Portage, MI. I feel completely misled and downright lied to. The staff, specifically the manager named Julie, provided inaccurate information when I purchased a silver and gold necklace for my nephew’s confirmation.
I also bought the $58 Lifetime Care Plan (pictured below) and was assured they would "repair or replace" the necklace if there was any damage. After just four months, the body of Jesus fell off the crucifix pendant. I brought it in, and after three months of back-and-forth, their idea of "replacing" it was to give me a gift card for the original purchase price.
This meant I had to buy the same necklace again at a different price, pay sales tax again, and then repurchase the $58 Lifetime Care Plan. If they can’t repair the pendant – which seemed like a simple fix – then "replacing" should mean exchanging it for a brand-new one from their counter.
If my nephew didn’t like it so much, I wouldn’t have purchased another one. Regardless, this will be my last time buying jewelry from JCPenney, and I will make sure others know about their deceptive sales practices.
I would love to speak with Julie’s supervisor to get a better explanation of why the original necklace couldn’t be repaired in the first place, or why they couldn't replace it with one of the several they had behind...

She’s very creative, professional and friendly. She also keeps up with the latest trends in nail design. I never fail to get numerous compliments on my gel nails and pedicures after every service. Brandi even makes custom glitter mixes for my gel nails when I bring her the chunky glitters I’ve fallen in love with. Brandi ensures all the services she provides are relaxing and that I’m comfortable by making sure I have bottled water, etc. She’s great at communicating with me if she notices anything about my hands or feet that she thinks I should be aware of. Whenever you get your hair done. Don't. Ever. let them "squeeze" you in. It never works!!!
Also, when someone is running a special, ask about the details. If you buy $30.00 worth of haircuts, shampoo, blow dry, you get highlights for free. Yeah, right.
She asked what highlights I would like. I said blonde. I let her know how I would like it and she said they only do four spots of highlights and not the whole head, with the special.
I asked how long, she said about an hour. How long was it. Almost 2 1/2 hours.
She asked if I wanted my hair straightened, I said no thank you. What does she do, straightens my hair.
She asked if I wanted my bangs cut, I said yes. What does she not do, cut my bangs.
I asked for wide strips of blonde highlights. What do you I get.... very thin highlights that look...
