In March 2022, my boyfriend (at the time) went to Rogers and Hollands in Portage to look at engagement rings. I found a three stone ring that I liked, but originally wanted a three stone ring where all the stones were the same size. I was debating between the three stone total 1 carat and three stone total 1.5 carat ring that they had in store. I decided that I liked the 1.5 carat ring better. They then gave a recommendation. There was a three stone ring that was in a beveled setting, that the manager of the store suggested, the manager mentioned that the ring has been on sale forever and it was the last one in the company. She told us that the three stone ring that was on clearance was a total carat of 1.5, like I originally wanted. She proceeded to say that we could buy the clearance ring and then switch the setting and it would be cheaper than getting the 1.5 carat ring that I originally wanted. We decided to go with the clearance ring and get it switched to a band that I liked. They sized me and ordered the ring. When my boyfriend proposed the ring was a 7 and I needed a 4.5. We took the ring back and they resized it to a 4.25 and had to go back and it it resized again to get a 4.5. I told my Fiancé that the ring didn’t look like a total 1.5 carot ring that the manager at the Portage location told us it was. My fiancé went back to the store and they told him the ring was .85 of a total carat. We told them this was not even close to what we wanted and proceeded to tell them that the manager lied just to make a sale. We asked if we could return the ring to get our money back of do an exchange. The associates told us that we couldn’t get a refund because it was a special order and we couldn’t trade it in because we needed to spend at least $4,000.00 on a ring. The associate at the store told us, when we were picking out the ring, that we could trade it in at Rogers and Hollands if we wanted something different, down the road. Well, everything was a lie. Fast forwarding to now, we went to the Rogers and Hollands in Grandville to get my ring cleaned because we have engagement photos this week and they told us that one of my stones was falling out. I’ve only had this ring for 3 months and it now stripping it’s stones.
I’m very disappointed with Rogers and Hollands and will never be coming back. We really just want our money back because it’s been a headache with...
Read moreGreat staff and products but do NOT get a lease on anything.
The people working there and the products they sell are both amazing and I couldn't be more satisfied with the service I was given when I was looking to buy an engagement ring for my Fiancé.
The problem I have is not with the store itself but instead the companies they choose to work with. If you're young like me and need a lease to pay off the ring over time they will set you up with Progressive Leasing. They have every right to choose to do business with whoever they please but It's your right as a consumer to know how it will affect you. When the lease was set up I soon noticed that I only had 3 months to get the ring paid off before I would start to occur obscene interest fees. If I just let the auto-pay feature continue to take money out of my account in the end I would end up paying double for the agreed upon price of the ring. Annoying but par for the course when it comes to scummy leasing companies like this. Their website is horrible so I was told to download their app which does admittedly have a better user interface. However when I looked for the option to completely pay off my ring in full it will not allow me to unless I call to request an "Early purchase option" which states that it "may cost more than the retailer's cash price". God knows how much that could be once I call them. Having to deal with the stress of their business partner has greatly hurt my previous good-will towards this retailer. If I didn't have to deal with Progressive Leasing I would be happy to give this place 5 stars but unfortunately both of those seem unlikely in the...
Read moreOkay I’m not one to write reviews but I’m annoyed. I bought bands in JUNE and was told they’d be in in 2 weeks. I don’t hear anything after almost 3 weeks(I get it, COVID slows things down). I call and am then told it’ll be 4-6 weeks since the order was placed..okay. That comes and goes, it’s now September, 3 MONTHS, since I ordered my bands. I call and no one can figure out where they are and I’m told they’ll call their ordering department. I wait another almost 2 weeks, finally get a call back and am told they’ll be in October 6th. I go into the store...nope not there. Once again no one knows where they are and by this time they’re ordering department is closed. I get a call the following day to let me know they’ll be in October 14th(4 months after I ordered them) I pick them up, wasn’t offered a ring box (no big deal) ask about soldering them to my engagement ring and am told he’ll be in tomorrow. So I go in today to get them soldered, have to pay $75 even though I was told I wouldn’t have to buy the lady who sold me my bands. I let the lady know that they have to be put together in a certain order or the bands and engagement ring won’t line up right. I get my set back and one of my bands is completely crooked. Why would you solder it on like that?! So now I have to go back AGAIN Tuesday to get it fixed. I get retail is tough and covid hasn’t helped one bit but don’t give customers the run around when they’re...
