I seem to be blocked from the Washington square Mall location so I thought I would post this here. I've no doubt it will be deemed offensive (or bad for business).
Any way heres my original post and my reply to their reply (which "strangely" is not displayed on the review page.
Had to buy a knit cap the other night and it was made in China.
Not sure why the response isn't displayed. But thanks for confirming I am correct not matter how much corporate speak you throw out at me. It wasn't part of the product the entire hat was made in China, it's on the label. Why do I think Made in Oregon is a brand name and not an actual ethos for the company
For clarity this is their response: Response from the owner 4 hours ago David, Nearly all of the products we carry have origins in Oregon or contain a significant amount of materials, design or labor generated within our state. When not available in Oregon, our buyers source “Made in the USA” products that can be customized to our local markets. A small percentage of our vendors find it necessary to import high-demand products not manufactured stateside, primarily tourist related items. We make every effort to ensure our customers are getting Oregon-made and American-made products, at the best possible value...
Read moreI had a brief layover in PDX so I made my way into this cute store. I love purchasing made in the state gifts so this store was perfect for that. My final destination was not Oregon so I didn't specially need gifts to take home. What I did want was a state souvenir to take with me.
Walking in, you are visually bombed with all sorts of colors and objects. I love stores like this. It requires you to take a minute to slow down and look at everything. They truly have everything here. From mugs to candy to sweatshirts, you'll find an Oregon themed gift here.
I have so many shot glasses and mugs from different states that I have stopped at or traveled to. I started doing something different now. I slap a state sticker on my suitcase to represent each state I have been to. I have been to Portland a few times so this was a nice addition to my suitcase. It's an easy souvenir without it cluttering my cabinets.
The sweet gal at the register checked me out. She was patient with me as I headed back to the stickers cause I couldn't decided between a couple. I really liked this store! Be cautious of your time! It's easy to get lost in time here with all the fun things to look at. You can lose track of it...
Read moreVery cute store with locally sourced items. However, with my travel brain and after being rushed by one of the employees (despite being aware of their closing time), I grabbed the wrong flavor of very similarly labeled sea salts. I had walked no further than 10 ft. away when I realized that what I had gotten was not what I wanted and turned around and immediately asked through the grate if I could have them swap it very quickly for the identically priced other item of the same brand. Instead of politely declining my request, the employee snapped at me saying that the store was closed (it was 8:59, and keeping this in mind, that is why I was asking if they could swap jars very quickly instead of asking to be let in) and that no food items could be returned (I had walked 10 steps out the door with a sealed jar of salt). When I tried to clarify that I did not wish to re-enter the store, the employee spoke to me as though I were incapable of understanding what a closing time was. While this store’s policies are understandable, I do not believe a curation of enticing local products makes up for snarky, condescending...
