Went here for brunch. There was no wait which I found odd being that it was 11:30 on a Saturday, but no wait is always good especially when you’re hungry. We ordered coffee and a build you own Bloody Mary. The coffee was delicious, really the only good thing we had here. The bloody Mary was way too strong and the tomato mix tasted like it came from a bottle or can. The Bloody Mary bar was also pretty underwhelming and way too many hot sauces to choose from. Why does there need to be 80??? The food was also very underwhelming. I ordered the breakfast burrito with chorizo. The burrito itself was very greasy, and there was oil left sitting on my plate when I picked up the burrito as well as the tortilla being soggy from all the excess oil. Whoever cooked it used way too much oil and it ruined the whole thing for me. The ingredients inside were decent although due to all the grease it kind of all just meshed together. And finally, the service. Eric W was our server and although he wasn’t horrible, I didn’t feel welcomed by him. He wasn’t all that attentive and he was focusing a lot of his attention to the table next to us (I presume they were his friends by how they interacted with each other). At the end of the meal he asked if we were ready for the check to which I said yes, gave him my card and when he came back he threw the booklet down on the table and walked away without much of a “thank you” or “have a nice day”. I’ve worked food service and I get it can be kinda hectic and crazy, but my overall experience here was subpar. Maybe we came in on an off day, maybe Eric wasn’t having a great day, maybe the cooks weren’t paying attention but when literally every aspect of the meal has issues I can’t in good conscience give a restaurant a solid rating. Now it makes sense why Radio Room had no wait while every other brunch spot in the area had a 20+ minute wait. Next time, I think I’ll take...
Read moreThe Good: Ambiance was great, seating area was very clean, servers were wonderful, warm outdoor seating options, pickle chips appetizer was amazing, food was brought to our table very quickly and the steak was cooked very nicely.
Our table shared the fried pickle chips, cauliflower appetizer, two steak plates with crispy garlic potatoes, mac n cheese, and an order of fried chicken.
The Bad: The wait time for parties with minors was ~1hr45min, cauliflower appetizer came out to our table already cold, both orders of steak had a very strange charcoal/burnt oil aftertaste, mac n cheese left much to be desired. Fried chicken plate was hardly edible as the only distinct flavors were overcooked flour and a very strange, unexpected sweet sauce of some sort that made me quite nauseous. reminded me a lot of very thin honey, not something i expected with a savory dish (though i will note the chicken itself was moist). The "crispy garlic" potatoes were more so charred than crisp, and not a hint of garlic in them. was really hoping they'd pack more of a punch and instead was very underwhelmed by the rushed preparation that caused them to somehow simultaneously be burnt on the outside and undercooked on the inside.
The verdict? I personally won't return. An overall underwhelming meal for the price tag, though I can certainly see the appeal for those who are 21+ and enjoy the lovely energy and decor of the place. cute, unique, and fun for drinks, not so much if you're very hungry and don't wish to stand in the...
Read moreOkay. This place has made a loyal customer out of me within 5 minutes of my first visit. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and clean. The atmosphere is warm, inviting and has a nice seating situation indoor. The outdoor seating both downstairs and upstairs is really cool, it keeps the retro-funkiness of the inside and provides plenty of seating with a lot of heaters.
But what really got me were the prices, quality of food, and the bloody mary. I was expecting a decent burger and instead got probably the best burger I have had in years. Me and my girlfriend split the burger and the mustard wings, and it was plenty for the late afternoon snack we both wanted.
If you are a fan of wings, please do yourself a favor and order yourself and your friends the mustard wings. The tenderness of the meat, and the perfectly crisp skin literally left me and my girlfriend speach-less. Oh! And I asked for a side of ranch instead of the default bleu, expecting to get just run of the mill house ranch, but no, they had their own homemade ranch, it was smooth and savory. It made me slow down and really enjoy the food.
We went there for some drinks and ended up blown away by everything. It was genuinely incredible. We want to make a habit of coming back at least once a month from here on out. BY THE WAY, the bloody mary was great.
TL;DR - Please go there and enjoy it. It was great and you and your friends will love it, I promise. GET THE MUSTARD WINGS! PLEASE,...
