So amazing!! This isnât the main bookstore and is usually not open to the public, but I woke up bright and early for this possibly-once-in-a-lifetime Warehouse Sale (June 2nd, 2024) so I can share a few glimpses inside!! Got nearly 70 new and used books, even some signed copies, and spent less than $100!!! For future readers/visitors to Portland that may read this, keep in mind that theyâre typically not open to the public at this location! Youâre most likely looking for âPowellâs City of Booksâ!! But yeah, waited in line for a few hours (got there around 6:30am and got in at 10:00am) and it was SO worth it đ The workers were very kind and gave everyone waiting in line free coffee and escorted people to the bathroom.    Read morePowell's is a place to get lost in on a Saturday morning. This particular location is a bookworm's fantasy. There are multiple floors, tiered levels, huge selection, lots of products related to book stories and fantasy worlds. They even have some games, gifts and trinkets that all make for great holiday surprises.
There's a nearby employee ready to help wherever you are.
It's well lit, warm, and inviting. It is often very busy, which can be a bit overstimulating for some.

   Read moreThe warehouse is nestled into pretty rows of trees over sidewalks, and surrounded by art studies warehouse spaces so there is lots to check out. The building itself is awe-inspiring for anyone who loves to be in a room with more books than you can reasonably count. Magic.
