WHAT A LUCKY FIND!!! I stepped out of my work truck to the most amazing smell and my stomach grumbled. Oh my lawd......!! What is that!! I thought. Unfortunately I had no time, I needed to get to a window installation. So I pushed on in wonder... sadly my stomach would have to wait! But..... happiness was to be found!! About 2 hours later, heading back to my truck there it was! THE BREWERS BAKERY. Off i went on a Sourdough Mission/Adventure. Strolling through that door brought the hugest smile to my face! 3 Bakers rolling dough... happily in conversation. The gentleman at the counter smiled as I approached. He greeted me and I explained that it was my first time in. He expeditiously and expertly explained how things worked. I decided on the LuLu Sourdough. A softer crust as explained by the bread technician. He then offered to cut it........ like.... waaaaaaaaWhat! I had planned to rip it apart as soon as I got back to my truck! ( That's how guys like me have to eat delicious things otherwise our children and especially wife will take our precious from us!! ) .. but now the possibilities!!! I could have sandwiches for my lunch, I could broil slices and slather it in butter, or make French toast! I was excited to say the least! When it came to checking out it was only 8$.. WHAT IN THE WORLD DID I FIND HERE. Fresh baked bread, sliced and bagged all in for 8 bucks! GTFO! So went through the process again and very happily walked out with 2 loafs instead. I hope you enjoyed this little story as much as i enjoyed this bakery. There are many other amazing confections at this fine bakery. From homemade jam to croissants and so much more. I highly recommend this spot to...
Read moreI just finished one of their breakfast hand pies, and first had to sit in silence for a bit to process the experience. It feels insane to write this but it was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. For context, I’m not usually into pies. I tend to eat the filling and discard the crust because it typically tastes so ho-hum to me. I am, however, into breakfast sandwiches so thought I’d give the hand pie a shot. I’m so thankful for that spur of the moment decision. I still cannot believe crust can taste that good. It was so delicate and flakey. I feel like my entire life has been a lie. And the filling was immaculate. It was perfectly put together and the perfect ratio of egg to sausage to cheese. And the crust hadn’t separated from the filling during the baking process either. It was beautifully constructed! Everyone except Brewers Bread should stop making pie crust immediately. Thank you BB for the amazing food and fantastic service. I can’t wait to visit...
Read moreI’m gonna say it… the best bakery in Northwest, and one of the top couple in Portland. We have a lot of good bakeries in the area, but these folks are on a whole other level. Have you ever had a sourdough croissant?! If not, prepare to fall in love. Their fougasse on Saturday is so unique and delicious. Their cheddar jalapeño bread is potentially the best bread I have ever eaten.
Always friendly, and a pleasant experience. Not somewhere to sit down and eat (no seating or anything)… it is intended to be a take and go. They are now a staple on our weekend walks. I hope they thrive here, because my weekend plans now include them 😂
They are an artisan bake shop, and the prices reflect that (~$5 croissant and $10-ish for a loaf)… but absolutely worth it. I don’t mind paying for quality, and supporting small...
