it pains me to write this review as I was SO excited to finally go to freeland and enjoy some drinks but it was honestly one of the worst experiences I have had in awhile. I can understand when a restaurant is understaffed but our experience was beyond upsetting. We walked in before they seemed to get busy. We ordered 2 cocktail flights and were celebrating pride. About 35-40 minutes later after ordering we were wondering what was going on, my partner went inside to use the restroom and noticed a party of 6 people (that were not present when we walked in) had multiple cocktail flights in front of them and also there were multiple cocktail flights on the bar dying. 5 minutes later I walked in and confronted the bartenders asking why it had been 40 minutes wait for our drinks. I also mentioned about the party behind me that had their drinks when we had ordered before them and also why the flights at the bar where just sitting there. You could tell they were just sitting there cause they looked melted and watered down. I was clearly upset. The bartender had the audacity to tell me that if I wasn't complaining to them, that the drinks would get to the table faster. I was in shocked. I told her that her priorities their not in order as we ordered before the party inside, she gave me attitude that was uncalled for. I work in the industry and I know what is it like to be understaffed and busy. If you don't have the staff to give the basic service then don't sit multiple parties which they were doing AFTER we had sat down. I honestly got choked up when I was complaining about my experience and the bartender did not seem sympathetic whatsoever. She even asked if I wanted to even wait for the flights or if I wanted to leave, I couldn't believe it. I wasn't be unreasonable at all, I work in the industry and understand but when your priorities aren't making sense then you need to be understanding instead of giving your paying guests attitude. Waiting 40 mins for 2 cocktail flights is outrageous. Our server on the other hand was understanding and when she even came back to the table finally with our flights she even quotes "you were right" because she knew that party got all of their flights before we did. I sadly will not be coming back to enjoy freelands ever again because of the attitude I received from the bartender. Fix your attitude if you want repeating guests. Like I said, I understand your busy and understaffed but you should never speak to a guest the way she spoke to me. I was also shocked that they didn't even do anything for us, nothing comped , nothing taken care of. If I had guests complain the way that I did and then treated the way that I was, I would have taken care of something that's for sure. So beyond upsetting. I don't know any names but we dined tonight on...

This is a fine distillery with a great atmosphere and solid drink/cocktail selections. The cocktails we got were delicious with impressive presentation!
Cons:
The food here is overpriced for what it's worth. The plates are advertised as $8, which seems reasonable initially. I ordered a plate of collard flowers with tofu and teriyaki and was incredibly disappointed when it came out. $8 for 6 stems of cooked greens (one of them was so fibrous it was inedible) and two small pieces of tofu was sourly disappointing. We were very hungry and the way that the food was marketed compared to what we actually got was very deceiving. I would not recommend this place for a full meal or dinner.
Also the customer service could be improved. Our server seemed rushed and when we tried to ask for a plate of bread and hummus she confused it for a plate of bread. An understandable error, however had the server been more engaging with us I think we would have all been able to communicate what we wanted a little better.
Honestly, I think this place has the potential to be super dope - they just need to work on their food game and amp up their...
Read moreA fantastic place to hop in for some cocktails or flights of their custom gins & bourbons as well as some small snack plates. Super friendly staff, great location, wonderful building.
If you are into Gin this is the place. They distill seriously one of the best mixing Gin's on the planet. If you love the Gin & tonic or base Gin mixed drinks, you'll want to switch to Freeland. They also make an excellent dry gin for the martini drinkers as well. The bourbon is a great straight drinking bourbon. They recently released a limited edition Rye, but sadly I missed it before it was gone. So watch for those awesome special batches.
Stop in, have some fun, take some booze to go! Great web site with more...
