STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE HOTEL!
I would stay so far away from this establishment. I stayed here multiple times (repeat to give them the chance to improve) and it just kept getting worse. Aside from the marginally clean facility, they damaged my property, incorrectly billed my credit card, and their insurance company ran me around for over a year.
My first issue was their valet, who returned my vehicle in a wrecked state. Through months and months of back and forth with management, as well as outright ignoring me, their insurance company offered to reimburse me for the $3k+ in damage done. A couple months down the road I took my vehicle in for a brake job and was told that the impact caused what could have been a devastating accident caused by the damage.
Silver Cloud refused to cover what they damaged, as it was after they fixed the body of my vehicle. This shows the negligence and lack of care a HOSPITALITY provider has for their customer.
I gave them another chance and stayed there once more and they billed a huge amount to my credit card citing "damage to the room". Needless to say it was a mistake but they took a while to refund the money after I spoke to several individuals over several days.
I would NEVER stay at this...
Read moreLoved our stay at Silver Cloud hotel! This is one of the two hotels that I found in the area that had free parking. That in itself was worth it, but the room was clean and just what we needed for a week stay (though bathroom is a bit small), and the location as amazing. So many cute restaurants and shops within walking distance. There’s easy-to-use public transportation also (a bus stop right out of the hotel, and a trolley/tram within walking distance, to take you through the city).
My only complaints are, a) the shower curtain was too short for shower/tub, so water spilled everywhere, unless we pulled the cloth curtain inside the tub too. And b) our room started to have an odd smell halfway through the week. It may have been the wet shower curtain, to be honest, but we never got to the source of the smell unfortunately.
Overall, great stay. If you’re driving, I’d definitely recommend Silver Cloud Hotel, especially because of the free parking.
**Edit: Removing a star because the company response to this review lacks awareness and customer service (not taking responsibility for the problem, or trying to fix it). We do understand how shower curtains work. The problem was that the curtain itself was too short to stay in the tub,...
Read moreThis review is based on our recent Pacific Northwest roadtrip after staying in three different places, from airbnbs to aparthotels and hotels in Vancouver and Seattle. Silver Cloud Hotel in Portland was by far the BEST place we stayed and loved every minute of it. The parking was included in the price which saved us since I was super-anxious of the car (most places charge you an extra 50 bucks for it per night). But most of all we loved the staff, how helpful and polite they all were, ready to help us with whatever we needed. The location of the hotel is FANTASTIC. It is right next to nob hill and slabtown, the cleanest, quitest and most picturesque part of Portland. The number of places you can eat and drink around the hotel is silly, there are just too many. We switched our road side room with a parking side room and enjoyed quiet nights and a great view of tiny houses on the hill. The room was huge, ametinites were basic (just a tiny fridge and microwave) but with so many places around, who needed more? Bed was a dream. All in all, will try to...
