The owner is incredibly rude and in fact seems to go out of his way to be. All negative reviews for the store are always specifically about him. I've witnessed him speaking in a degrading way publicly to employees while I was conversing with them, which is embarrassing for everyone. I myself have spent a good deal of money in that shop (at both locations) and gotten others to do so as well. I specifically went there to put some $$$ down on vintage MAD magazines (even though I could get them for less on Ebay but thought I would support his enterprise as I highly value such antique/thrift stores) when he spoke to me in a calculatedly rude manner about opening the bags to inspect their condition/content. I left (after over-reacting, I'm afraid.) because I was fed up with the bad manners that I have witnessed from him over the years. He doesn't seem to recognize a good customer when he sees one. Also, things don't move very quickly at that place. I wonder why? Honestly, he would probably make more money if he stayed in the back and left the customer service to others. P.S. I really liked his dog and he has a good jeweler there...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst off, I want to thank all of the people who gave the place a lousy review because it gave me a decent chuckle. Although it hurts small businesses when you give them low ratings, at least I know that the types of people that I can barely stand being around will stear clear so I can shop in peace. š Really Good Stuff is a classic antique store without the fuss and āaestheticā touch younger folks might be looking for. Itās run by hard working people who give you back the energy that you give them- so- if you walk in with your snotty privileged attitude, be sure that no one is going to act like they appreciate it. Iāve been shopping with them a long time, and now send my customers there if they are looking for something special and enjoy rummaging through a legit antique store that doesnāt try to pass off new items as vintage (something that is see very often in more of the trendy āvintageā shops). As for the prices? I donāt know where everyone else is shopping, but I think they might be confused with goodwill or Salvation Army if they think other antique stores in Portland...

I tried to write a review that expressed the discomfort that my coworker experienced but I was greeted with comments that implied that I had no business saying that their actions were uncalled for. They said that my coworker was dressed provocatively and that the comments made were not out of line. For a professional business, this is really concerning. Even as a outsider, it was very clear that there was no desire to take responsibility for the discomfort that was caused. A customer going into a store and being sexualized by adult men is bad enough- but to reply to a negative review about the experience by saying that the customer was basically asking for it? That is really really disappointing and flat out wrong. I think that more than anything, this interaction shows that this business is not concerned with customer comfort...
