I bought a torch, some butane, and some other items there. I asked how to refill the torch, and they showed me. I used to torch a few times, but when I tried to refill it, I had some trouble. I went back & asked for help. He said I broke it when I was trying to refill it. I told him I did exactly as shown & it must be defective. I tried to have an adult conversation & was just asking him to be reasonable and exchange it, but he instantly became irate & defensive. I can’t believe it, but he actually screamed at me. I asked him if he cared because I live nearby and want to be a repeat customer. I’m already a repeat customer. He said he doesn’t care & that he doesn’t know what I did to it. He was so rude & generally mean that I’m just shocked. Living downtown for so many years, I’m used to merchants being reasonable & honoring their products. This is the first time in 18 years here that anyone screamed at me and was so rude. I’m just shocked. I was planning on spending more money there but cannot in good conscience. They of course have vape products, not just smokes. I can't comment on tobacco products but seems that's their strong suit so you may add a star if that's what you are looking to buy but I'm rating on their vape products/prices as vaping in my opinion has overtaken tobacco use.

Store is a bit sketch but it's the closest walking option from most of the hotels in DT Portland. Previous reviews about having good prices are outdated or only apply to tobacco products. I bought a disposable vape that sells online for $13 that they sell for $20. But that's what you pay for the convenience of a nearby store and I'm happy to support a local business.

I've been buying cigarettes at this Smoke Shop for about 8 years. The staff is professional. I, however, had an encounter with the owner who was training an employee and perhaps showing off. I'm a retired vet with parkinson's in my 60s and demonstrate an exaggerate tremor in my left hand. Although I understand in Old Town Chinatown where a large number of its inhabitants may appear to have some form of drug abuse or another. I find it unkind however to make audible one's thoughts on the physical attributes of another. An impression was made by the owner that will linger sometime in my memory.
