Wow...what a cool place to go on a warm Saturday afternoon. So many beautiful, artistic, practical & whimsical items for sale, from manufactured to the handmade. Skincare, cosmetics, soaps, hand-tooled leather items, knives, pet treats & outfits, clothing, posters, home decorations, jewelry & Crystal's, plus so much more I can't even remember. The food featured is delicious, including my purchase of an churro-flavored ice cream-stuffed donut. Delicious isn't a good enough term to even begin describing this creation gifted from the ice cream & donut heavens. Located at Skidmore Fountain & across the street on section of the waterfront, this street fair happens every Saturday & Sunday during warm weather months. If you are in the market (literally) for anything unique, useful, artistic, local, homemade, interesting, or just plain cool, Saturday Market is your place. If fun and charismatic personalities, down to earth shops, access to all the best local artists, being surrounded by great smells and diverse foods, a retail setting that replaces monotony with a bohemian spirit, you'll regret not visiting this place. However, if you're wanting mass produced junk, GMO laden fast foods, quick in and out shopping that lacks the time and patience to peruse multiple isles and converse with many shop owners and fellow patrons, steer clear; this is not the place for you. When you’re trying to get a real feel for Portland and you’re in the city the weekend, this is the place for you! This is also a great place to take your friends and family who are visiting from out of town. You can find vendors selling a plethora of locally produced products from elephant ears (the snack, not from the pachyderm) to jewelery to stuff that I’m still not sure about.
