Panera Bread — Restaurant in Prairie Village

For the past few years, I would tell others that this Panera Bread location was my favorite. What happened recently solidified my belief. I submitted an online order for the Mediterranean bowl with chicken. This was only my second time ordering online. I picked up my order and left without checking it. When I got home and settled, I pulled the bowl out of the bag and realized there was no chicken in my bowl. I called the restaurant to inform them of this in a pleasant manner. The manager answered. I informed him about the missing chicken in my bowl and not realizing it until I had gotten all the way home. The manager apologized. He stated he was leaving for the day, could have the order remade correctly, and would drop it off to me. He said he would throw in my favorite pastry as well. He then asked for my address. I was in complete disbelief that the manager would put forth that much effort to fix the restaurants mistake. The manager kept his word; within an hour, he arrived at my home with my correct order and a few extras in the bag. He was also extremely polite. Thank you so much for this amazing service!! I would recommend this...

Panera is a below average sandwich shop. I only go when forced or asked in order satisfy the request of folks that have been retired for many years. Panera should consider a Plan B for the next/ incoming generation. Look, the sandwich fillings are minimal and over cheesed (chewy dry cheese is not good) and worst of all, the bread sucks. No matter the bread, it is tough and chewy. This is a bread company...this should be the trophy of the meal! It never is, at ANY Panera. Okay, about this visit and this Panera. The employee that took our order was very nice. Hard to understand due to being soft spoken and unconfident, but nice and attentive. The food was prepared in a very reasonable time frame and all 10 meals were ready at mostly the same time. The lobby/eating area was clean and comfortable (mismatching table heights across 3 tables were manageable). Not surprisingly, the sandwiches were exactly what was expected; less than appetizing fillers (roast beef, chicken, etc.) and thick chewy bread. I will only force myself to go to Panera Bread Co. again when I am forced...

I was so excited when this location started offering delivery, and I ordered many times and was very pleased. However, several months ago, they doubled the delivery fee, increasing it to $5.99!!! Insane! The minimum order amount is only $5. I reached out to Panera Corporate and was first told the fee must be a mistake. Then the issue was escalated and I learned this location is a franchise and the operator can charge whatever they want for the delivery fee. Well in case you actually read these reviews here's a tip - if delivery wasn't profitable enough for you, maybe you should've raised the minimum order instead of raising your delivery fee. Honestly, if you just ended delivery, I'd be sad, but I'd at least still drive to your store for a pick-up order. However, doubling your delivery fee is insulting, and I won't spend any more money at this location for an order...
