I received a letter from an agent with CMC named Maranda Bolin that looked as if it had been written by a child-handwritten and full of spelling & grammatical errors. The punctuation even used exclamation points that were cartoon-ish in nature. This letter expressed interest in purchasing one of my grandfather's properties. The girl stated she had just "driven by" the property and was interested in purchasing it. This in itself is impossible, as the property in question lies at the end of a very secluded road that is beyond state maintenance. The only "traffic" is to one other home occupied by an elderly woman. Her son picks her up every Sunday and Wednesday for church and twice a week for errands. The property is monitored by security cameras 24/7 due to the seclusion and they are reviewed at least once a day, if not more. Maranda Bolin never drove by the property in question to prompt her inquiry. This made me a little uneasy, especially since the number she included to "text" her was disconnected when I tried to call. There was a second number listed to "call." She ended her correspondence with, "P.S. I am a licensed agent but I do not want to list your home. I would like to buy your home." I decided just now to call the second number, which turned out to be this Christian Managment Corporation. A lady answered the phone and I could barely understand her. I asked for Maranda and she said no, and stated her name...I asked her so, this is the wrong number for Maranda Bolin. She said, "Oh, no. She works here." I said "Ok...." and began to explain the nature of my call this morning and what had concerned me. My concern was mounted considerably if this was coming from a purported real estate agency...sending child-like correspondence filled with suppositions and outright lies and bookmarks with Biblical quotes to a God fearing 86-year old man? The woman on the other end of the line seemed genuinely put off by my call and concerns, huffing and puffing, and saying, "so do you want to sell the house or not?". When I told her that we were not interested in pursuing any real estate transactions at this time, that I was just really concerned about such correspondence, she let out an annoyed breath and hung up the phone on me. I don't feel like this has been an experience with a company worthy of calling themselves CHRISTIAN anything. People who perpetrate fraudulent claims in childish letters to prospective victims are committing sacrilege by the inclusion of Christian effects. The company they represent is furthermore committing sacrilege by representing themselves as Christians while behaving as such toward their brothers and sisters in Christ. So one...you guys are total scumbags. Two, God sees everything. Three...I don't feel as if these people are trustworthy in the least. Thus, I am going to end my review by encouraging others to seek out more trustworthy folks to handle their livelihoods rather than a bunch of unprofessional. rude, manipulative miscreants who are exploiting the faith and trust in Jesus Christ and God that is so prevalent...

So after another month another New surprise!! Previous rat holes by the dozen some already filled with great stuff. This house was infested with rats upon moving in. I’ve been battling them since I moved in. And I’m almost at my wits end. Sure glad there is no empathy with this company. If you have an issue it’s a dog eat dog mentality with these people. sTeLlaR rEvIeW they say I been here six months and have had nothing but issues from no water heater, rat infestation I’ve been battling for three months I HAVE RECEIPTS FOR ALL THE RAT TRAPS STEEL WOOL GREAT STUFF ECT. I think there may be underlying issues with the sewage from upstairs to downstairs as well. Basically sold me a condemnable house knowing I’m a single mother with four children. Yea stellar.
Be careful who you deal with
UPDATE::::I do have to come back and revise I am still thankful for the home but heads up!!!!! When you go look at the houses, make sure you bring a person who a professional And make sure all the utilities are on in the house before you look over it and agree that there are no issues. Upon moving in, I had to replace a water heater and many busted pipes. The issues were never disclosed to me, even though they were aware the issues were in the home when I looked over the house. The only utility that was on was electricity. Water was not on, so I couldn’t even check if the water worked. Then four months down the road some workers come knock on my door saying they had a work order to replace a water heater. Well, I had already replaced it and right when I noticed that there was an issue. I went straight to the office and asked them if I could get help fixing things. They denied me help because I am rent to own. With the name like Christian management, I would’ve thought the truth would’ve been disclosed to me before purchasing the home. They were obviously aware of the issues because code was all over them to fix them. That’s the only reason the men came to the door four months later. To bring the house up to code. They also trimmed a bunch of trees, which I am NOW responsible for paying the city to to remove. Sad
My question is why would a house be put on the market before it is habitable? Not a good look Christian management . Not a good way to start a 30 year 155,000 house contract but ok if that’s how yall rocking yall will see how im rolling lol
PS the days I took off work to fix pipes anll the trips to Lowe’s the time waiting for a plumber to get done. Getting the wrong equipment having to spend out of pocket for tools to crimp pipes and buying a BRAND NEW water heater got me fired from my job. But you guys still expect a payment so I am starting new employment. But just so you know PSA NO job excuses absence because of fixing issues in your home so your four children can live there and not have to boil water for baths. Thankfully for first month and half one bathroom sink worked. Until I fixed all the pipes and water heater we were living in third world conditions...
Read moreChristian Management was tasked with completing electrical work, during which the power to my home was turned off. Because of slow, incorrect work that was not up to code, this turned into 17 DAYS without power. I work from home and lost money during this time. Residents were also left without heat and hot water in freezing temperatures.
They provided no updates, aside from multiple incorrect estimates on restoration times from maintenance. When I called the office, the owner, Maranda, refused to be reached. I did speak to one man who said he "really didn't care" about the issue, then hung up mid-call.
I encountered the owner at the property after a tenant moved out in frustration. She stopped to put a "for rent" sign on the unit which didn't even have power. As tenants who were currently paying her emerged from their cold, dark unit to ask for an update, she called us rude for interrupting her phone call, then sped off.
They falsely claimed the issue was the result of a natural disaster and was “out of their hands,” even though the delays were due to incomplete repairs, not weather, and AEP said it should’ve been an easy fix. They also said they “didn’t know who turned the power off,” even though they were informed by AEP and me minutes after the power was cut.
When I informed them I’d be reducing rent for the 17 days without power, lost wages, spoiled food, and supplies needed, they said failure to pay in full would result in eviction. This is after I’d paid over $30,000 in total rent, with payments never being a day late or a penny short. Rent from them at your own risk.
Edit: The following is a reply to their response below.
Per AEP and CMC’s own workers, the bulk of this work was wiring upgrades, not a bent conduit. This makes it the fault of the owner, not a natural disaster. The owner also had the work done incorrectly initially, extending the blackout. She ceased contact when asked whether the work had been done by a licensed contractor, likely hoping her mistake would be forgotten.
I called the office to report the issue on day 1. I made a point to do this, because the last 3 safety-related maintenance issues I’ve called in have been delayed or ignored. The last issue took 8 weeks and 6 communications to be resolved. When notified about it, they said “We’re not sure if we even own that property.” They’d made roughly $25,000 on it at that point.
They brought a heater a week into the blackout and freezing temperatures. The resident couldn’t use it because it had warnings saying “do not use in a residential setting,” though their maintenance worker insisted “Those warnings are just for companies to cover their behinds.” No generator was ever provided. Again, be very careful who...
