I was recently in the Princeton area on an important business trip when I was hit with the nettlesome problem when I dropped my iPhone, and it wouldn't turn on. Nonetheless, I persevered and was able to look up 'iPhone repairs, Princeton' on my Macbook in one of the local, and rather delicious coffee shops. I came upon this hit, a great store situated at 195 Nassau Street. A small store, with a lot of character. It is run by a student of the university. As I entered the store I was immediately taken aback, I couldn't decide what I preferred, the ambience or the decor, in the end I went for both. The phone, which would play an integral part in my meeting that afternoon, was to be fixed "within 20 minutes", this was not a problem, as I was at a loose end so decided to return to the aforementioned coffee shop, again no hassle was the weather was dry, albeit cold. Needless to say my screen was fixed at a reasonable price and I was able to complete a lucrative deal. My second visit to this fine store came no more than a week later when I was again in town for business. I had to get my son's Macbook fixed. This experience was somewhat different. The store was shut when i needed it fixed (perhaps could be open more) but I called the owner and I was lucky enough to meet the owner, a Canadian who wasn't fat, but was certainly not in shape. The man (Martin) was munching from a lunchbox as I entered. He said that he would fix it no problem, and even said he would stay open long into the night so that I could return at my convenience. This was music to my rather cold ears, as I discovered that the situation would be ameliorated before I left. Overall, my experience with Princeton iPhone Repair was a positive one, and I would recommend them to anyone who wishes to get their phones fixed at an...
Read moreI happen to work within whispering distance of the space occupied by the Princeton Tiger Tech service center, which has been operated by DigitalDoc for the past year or so. I've had several opportunities to toss them a phone, tablet, or laptop component to repair. Each time, they were helpful and competent, and even pointed out when repair didn't make good economic sense. Also, because of my proximity, I witness a good portion of their interactions with customers and have developed a high regard for their diagnostic skills, repair competency, treatment of customers, and follow-up.
Highly recommended.
Note: I've noticed a couple of comments about parts not being immediately on-hand or the facility being closed. My perspective may help: Princeton Tiger Tech is a satellite operation. Its location makes it more convenient for many customers to drop and pick up a device and they do stock many parts, but repairs occasionally require a quick inventory transfer from the main store. They do a good job of communicating this, and no doubt have streamlined the process as they settled in. As for the door... try to arrive by 5 PM. The main facility locks down...
Read moreUnfortunately, it was the second time I had to use this company, my laptop having crashed during an automatic update. Last time I absolutely lost nothing, and had not much to do to bring my laptop into my familiar interface. This time I was not that lucky, although all data were still saved! Since a full new restall of Windows was necessary, it took somewhat more efforts to bring my favorite settings back (many did transfer automatically though - differences might be that the current Windows was one version ahead of what I had.) The one problem I faced had nothing to do with the reinstall, but in the fact that reinstalling an Verizon/AOL personal email account was very difficult, could not even be helped by the normal AOL help, and needed technical assistance (my work email was problemless). That was an AOL issue.
What I liked about Princeton Tiger Tech was its location, its very personalized and courteous service, and all in all a satisfactory result, with some tips thrown in where I was still used to some outdated ways of doing things. I don't hope I will need them again, bit I...
